There's some quality too.

hey now!!!:D

my mother in law's sister lives in MN... i always giggle and ask how all these people left SE Asia and moved to northern states like MN and MA:confused:

oh, and in 1990 when 'part time' BU president john silber was running for the MA gov job. he was talking about welfare and asked out loud why there were more lao people living in lowell than anyplace in the world outside of Laos!

I know this may sound like sacrilege at the GE house, but has he looked at North Dakota? Very good Meteorology program. Also, has reciprocity with MN. Cost me less per year to go to UND then it did to go to Benilde (minus flight costs...which he won't have).

He has, in fact he spoke with someone from the department for several minutes at the college fair. UND had outstanding representation there and I was very impressed with them (and it's sure as hell cheaper than STA!), unlike the evil red empire to the east who had a large booth at the college fair staffed completely by morons. I am sure he will apply (and should get in) at UND and would be an outstanding choice if he didn't get into or want to travel as far as PSU or PU.

I've heard enough about the Hmong people and their culture to drive me nuts. I understand that MN guy was a freakazoidic outlier but what a strange culture. The whole "kidnap your bride" deal is skeevy.

Don't let him stray.....

He better stay true to MN, unlike MNS. That *er.

For those who've seen "Gran Turino" there is that generational gap. There's the old school, and the newer generation. There is no trend, it's a black-n-white switch in attitudes/keeping of customs/etc.

For those of you keeping score at home regarding little g.

He routinely walks about 10 - 20 feet at a time now. He still has a long ways to go but I now envision him being able to run one day. (He is still working on his balance and he cannot get upright without some sort of assistance.) Looking back at the not so distant past I had doubts if he would ever be able to walk.

His speech is labored and if you are not around him much it can be difficut to understand. However, he has an impressive vocabulary and is now beginning to talk in sentences. He can count to twenty and almost knows all of his ABC's.

For Halloween he is going to be Buzz Lightyear and little gII is going to be Woody.

Miracles can happen! :)

Just received this note from SiouxFanInSeattle himself about twenty minutes ago. Great news.

...enjoying the Denver weather? Heh heh. Well I'm glad that is behind me. The surgery took about 6 hours, primarily due to an issue with the prostate being "stuck" to the intestine. But other than that, it went well. I was out of the hospital the next day, which was quite a surprise. The recovery process is going well. The pain level is much lower than I expected - in fact I have mostly taken only Tylenol. I will find out the pathology results when I get the catheter removed next Wednesday. The surgeon told my wife that he expects it to be clean. And he was able to save both nerve bundles! I'll let you know more later.

How do Lodgerians? In a hotel in snowy Denver with the mister who is recovering from having a blocked carotid artery. All went well with the surgery. but ... heh heh ... he can't drive for 2-3 weeks. guess who's driving?
evil :D
Awesome news all around!

Hi Lodge. Even with work sucking today, tonight more than made up for it. I'll have my "26.2" tattoo done on Monday, spoke with an old friend for more than an hour on the phone, and got to enjoy a quiet night. Haven't had one of those in awhile.

I did ask the UND guy if the halos were included. :D

:D

You should ask if he can toss a lawnmower and if he gets the record yardage for that, if he gets an additional $1000 for tuition reimbursement.

Mornin' Lodge!

It's finally Friday but 've still got to make it through the day. I don't even have live hockey to look forward to tonight. :(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

my excitement was at a fresh high to see the yummy a-girl hockey mummy's:D :D :D but then i only got to see two dudes leave with their sons

Would an absence of a-girls mean your plan had an a-hole in it? :D

(Sorry.)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

The building here is having its trick-or-treating tonight. Got me thinking about how my old Saint Paul neighbor Wade would set up some tables in his front yard, and have hot dogs and coffee (and juice boxes for the kids) for the whole street. Everybody'd meet there before heading out, so the kids are all excited, and it's getting pretty chilly. Naturally, hidden back up in the porch was a cooler Grain Belt Premium for the dads in the know. Except for the clothes and almost no cigs, it could be a picture from 1957.

All right, enough of that Mists of Time stuff. Sure could use a Premium, tho'.

I find it disconcerting how often I see people posting after they've woken up but before I've gone to bed...
