You know one thing that's never lacking at a paper mill?

Humidity

In order to go anywhere here, restroom, conference room, other offices, I have to walk right next to the paper machine. It's always ~85 degrees and my glasses fog up :o

I heard a rumor that for costume day today at his office, gmann came in wearing just his stars and stripes speedo.

Already won the scariest costume contest. :p

The speedo had little to do with it. (No pun intended) The back hair = winner winner chicken dinner! :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

Finally, the snow has stopped falling here in Denver. My unscientific data tell me our neighborhood received about twenty inches of snow from late Tuesday evening through the early hours of Friday. The sun is trying to peak through the clouds. The temp may hit the low 40s today and temps Saturday and Sunday are forecast to be in the 50s and several days of low 60s are on the horizon for next week.

An item in this morning's Denver Post mentions what a terrific time it is for sports fans in and around Colorado. The Nuggets [2-0] on the young season, the Avs [10-1-2] and the Broncos [6-0] are a combined 17-1-2. Pretty good since only the Nuggets had any measure of success predicted for it before the teams' respective seasons began. Throw in the Pioneers at [4-2] and the total rises to 21-3-2. Not bad.

DU goalie Marc Cheverie has three consecutive shutouts in his past three starts. In the game before that he finished the final few minutes of play by not allowing a goal. If Cheverie allows no goals during the first 5:23 of tonight's game versus Mankato he will establish a school record for consecutive minutes without allowing a goal. The record is currently held by Peter Mannino [now playing with Chicago in the AHL].

I hope you get to see your favorite team in action this weekend. The Pioneers host the Mankatos in Magness Arena tonight and tomorrow night during DU's Homecoming Weekend.

Just a quick reminder: be sure to adjust your clocks be setting them back one hour tomorrow night. I hope all LODEGEONIANS have a great weekend. :)

Not even close to scariest costume. After DU wraps up its series tomorrow night against Mankato I plan to jet to Minnesota and North Dakota for some late night trick or treating. In Minnesota I'll be dressed as Marc Cheverie. In NoDak I'll be dressed as Nathan Gerbe. Scare the $#!T outta hockey fans in both states.

g-string-mann and his swim suit gots nothing on those two costumes. :D

So, what you're trying to say is that your Pioneers are the ****tiest team in the area, since they are the only ones with 2 losses?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

Crap. I actually got a check this week. Apparently the move to a new payroll unit requires a week to verify the payment to my account.

I have to go to the bank and deposit my check :(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

One of the guys that works for me went to the ER today because they think he had a stroke.
Got an update this morning. Jim (tGuy) did NOT have a stroke but is possibly having TIA's. They found something in the MRI that's affecting the right eye. His next step is to see a neurologist to try and pin it down.

Since I got the details 3rd-hand there might be something missing but I guess that's good news for a Friday.

Be sure to take an ID with you as the tellers may not recognize since you haven't been inside a bank in a while. ;)

In other news, wT is a light weight. It's been awhile since I drank at lunch.

Boyfriend and I went to a haunted house last night but left, it was dead.

Hee! I see what you did there. :)

They wanted to be at the Myley Cyrus concert last night. :D

It's Miley. (It's a felony!!! [/The Soup])I will be attending her show here in Boston on 11/9. Bro' was able to get tickets through her peeps (had to pay for them but they better be floor seats) and since he hasn't started back at work yet, he's flying home for about a week and we're taking the nieces. He's also trying to finagle meet and greet passes, or at least take a trip back stage to say hi. GE - I realized I never got you a photo. Email me your daughter's name. When he goes back to work next month, I'll see if he can get me an autographed photo. They don't start shooting till January so it wouldn't be till next year, but I will do my best to get one for you.
