It's a game. Not a sport. A difficult game, mind you. But not a sport. Yes, I am of the FIRM opinion of this.

it has rules. and you compete.

beer pong is a sport.
fishing is a sport.
nascar is a sport.
poker is a sport.

One qualifying standard of mine: if you can have a cigarette/cigar and/or have a drink whilst performing the actions of said activity, it's not a sport. NASCAR doesn't meet this particular standard, but you're driving a car. It's like riding a horse (I also don't think horse racing is a sport). :)

So by your definition, baseball and football are also not sports, and for goalies hockey isn't either. :p

And off the ice in hockey, you can. Ask Guy LaFluer. But on-ice? Never.:p

Then baseball isn't a sport. If you can smoke while swinging a golf club, you can smoke while doing pretty much anything involved in baseball.

That's gotta be the dumbest definition of a "sport" I've heard. What's worse, you base your intractable opinion on it.
