Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 82: Games in a Season for the big boys

Alright, maybe I bumped my head harder than I thought in that ATV incident. I have been barely with it enough to do my job well so far this week. My job isn't difficult, either.

Oops. I might have to bring an end to my four-wheeling career, because it has sucked since I was 14.
Ummm.... how about some details here.

That's a dumb question because timelines are imprecise at best. If I noticed a decline of a more permanent variety and that the end was clearly coming within the next few months, I'd quit my job, cash out my retirement, start banging strippers nightly and get a hold of a sportscar and drive around like a maniac.
Is it just me, or does anybody else here think that would be a fairly tame response by the Commie. Honestly, I would think he would go out in such a blaze of glory that it would require a congressional investicagation to unsort it all out.

There is a Minnesota youth hockey forum on the net and a guy calling himself "Edina Rumors" is all upset. He's concerned because the Edina PeeWee A coach and some of the parents had some pre-tryout skates with 35 of the top PWA prospects (Edina Rumor's grandson was not invited  ). He's sure that the team has already been picked and it's all so unfair.

Good Lord these people need to get a life and let the kid's play...
Cripes. the kids are like what, 7?? let em play a bit and not worry about it. The kid might actually get a little more ice time on the B or C team anyways.

So, SheaCitiFieldStadium is actually pretty nice, no Yankee Stadium, but has a nice, homey feel to it. Oh, and the Mets lost, so that was nice too.

almost there: Who wants to score!

Grrr.... You must spread and hit the 24 hour clock.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! freaky friday is finally here.

And I woke up this morning dreaming of work intermingled with the current family situation. I really wish I could drink. :( At least it is Friday.

If you were a girl, they'd still be ragging you for the wanting to score comment.

Morning Lodge. Often folks post about their detailed dreams on here - I rarely remember my dreams. The last two mornings I have woken from vivid dreams that I remembered. None about the Lodge or USCHO though ;) - family and work instead.

So is the guy stupid? Of course the team is picked already. Move on and get over it.

Umm, no it isn't. Very likely that the 17 picked will come out of those 35, but at this association winning is too important to the coaches to not go through the tryouts and pick the players that give them the best chance of it. If a new kid has moved into the association and he shines at tryout he'll make it over one of the expected. The guy's fears are groundless on this one. There was a huge issue two years ago when an ex-NHLer's kid didn't make the SQA team as dad expected - he wasn't good enough. He made it second year, but wasn't good enough as a first year.

Oh goodie, can we have a long, protracted, utterly pointless debate about this? Please? Those are oh, so much fun!

I think we just did.

Actually 11-13 depending on birthdate in MN. If this guy is concerned, I would hope his kid can at least make a B1 or B2 at worst.

Tryout season in hockey is so much fun, eh goldy? :)

Yeah. How is FB going at STA? Is The Rat playing varsity?

I may see if I can pick up some cheap seats (relatively) for a couple Wild games when they open on-line sales at 10 AM today if I'm free at the time. I hope jr's peewee game schedule won't conflict.

Good Morning Lodge!

Didn't get much sleep last night. I need to learn to go to bed earlier.:(

Brent: re your text last night, I will try to make it by 7 Saturday night, but I might not be able to make it there until 8-8:30. You can start the festivities without me. Also, I need directions or an address to google, I've been there once, but don't remember exactly how to get to your place.

Here is my random thought of the day.

Pat Benatar may just have been the best most underrated Pop Star ever.

Please don't ask how or why I came to this conclusion.

A fun outing for The Shots over the course of the next thirty-six hours. We're heading to laramie, Wyoming for the Wyoming-Texas football game. My wife's family has long standing ties to the state of Texas and the university. She has cousins coming to the game from californai, Missouri and Texas. Additionally, a good friend she's known for forty years will be traveling to the game form Monatna.

We'll be getting together for a festive dinner at a great steakhouse in laramie this evening. Tomorrow we'll be going to the "Texes Exes" BBQ before the game. We have tickets on the thirty-five yard line. Afdter the game we'll gather somewhere for a post game dinner and then head in our different directions. As the Denver to Laramie drive is only about a two hour trip my wife and I will be home late tomorrow.

I hope everybody has a terrific weekend. :)
