Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 82: Games in a Season for the big boys

There is a Minnesota youth hockey forum on the net and a guy calling himself "Edina Rumors" is all upset. He's concerned because the Edina PeeWee A coach and some of the parents had some pre-tryout skates with 35 of the top PWA prospects (Edina Rumor's grandson was not invited  ). He's sure that the team has already been picked and it's all so unfair.

Good Lord these people need to get a life and let the kid's play...

let grandpa know that colin wilson was cut from his midget team when he was 15.... i think things worked out for colie!;)

That site is unbelievably entertaining......I pretty sure I know a few of the regulars from District One. :)

I think I watched far too much Top Chef yesterday. Last night, all I dreamt about was people cooking.
Did you end up well done?
You know whats awesome?

Getting a compliment from a customer via email, and the customer cc's your boss on the email.
I've sent those emails. I work with an organization in NYC that is all over the board when it comes to service quality, and mostly it's bad. This one time I got a guy who did a great job, completed for me in 45 minutes what I spent 4 hours explaining to another set of people. I shot the email to our RM contact because I didn't have the guy's direct email contact. I can only assume it made it to the correct people after that.

morning sex?

Nope. Even better. Found out my wife had the afternoon off and we could play a round of golf at one of our favorite courses. I was on fire today. Shot 37-41-78. Had one three putt green for a bogey on a par three and one double bogey on a par four. Apart from that....

I countered those two errant holes with ten pars and a birdie. Better still, we got to play as a twosome and played in three hours twenty-five minutes. Home for frozen margs, burgers on the grill, fresh corn on the cob and fresh sliced peaches topped with coffee ice cream. :)

I think I watched far too much Top Gear yesterday. Last night all I dreamt about were smarmy British guys destroying caravans.

OK, I have a question for the smokin hotts.

Those of you who have stood up in weddings--what was the earliest the bride had you order your dress? I'm in one next summer, and she wants us to have ordered them by the end of the month, and that just seems odd to me, because for 'bando's wedding, the store we went through wouldn't let us order them any sooner than 6 months before the ceremony.
So is she afraid the style will be discontinued before next yr? I've never heard of that so early.

Thanks to all of you for the kind wishes. It was kind of nice to have folks saying that rather than wanting me to solve something that can't be fixed.
Les: You're probably on this already, but as a historian, make sure someone talks to your MIL and records whatever family history she knows. No substitute for having her there, but it's better than not having her OR her memories. And maybe it'll help her (and your husband) accept matters, too. :( Good luck to all of you.
Already on it but I was before this. She is actually not Mr's mother. She died of liver CA the yr before we were married. Then my Fa-in-laws sig O after that died of lung ca. These 2 have been together for 7 yrs. He has horrible luck. They aren't married yet because of the whole pension thing but are planning to get married real soon.
Good night kiss in the morning?

Morning Lodge.

Sorry about your MIL, les. :( She's not the relative who won't follow medical direction is she?
No nibbles on Craig's list so I guess the church gets some nice furniture for the garage sale (I want it out of my garage before the weather gets bad).
Yes. Had it out yesterday. Then Mr went over and did too. They told him I had yelled at them. (I showed up and the F-i-l was telling her to wait to take her stomach med even tho she was sx. I completely lost it at the 2 of them. I was vehement that I think they got it this time. It probably won't change them tho.

I guess that would work too. I'm just of the mindset that getting pregnant is a bad consequence of having sex, not a good consequence, so in my mind the idea of trying to get pregnant is akin to trying to get herpes.
I read this as I am in the mindset to get pregnant:eek:

So is the guy stupid? Of course the team is picked already. Move on and get over it.

Is this what happens when people get married? Golf becomes better than sex?

Why the hell would anyone get married?

Tell Edina Rumor's that his grandson wasn't invited because he sucks and he should get over it...
