Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

That makes it feel a little inappropriate to mention that I received a phone call an hour and a half ago, and was offered the position I've been talking about. I go in tomorrow to read/sign the contract and I start next Monday. :)

Go tell the recession where to stick it, my friend.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

I second this thought. Though it would be infinitely more satisfying to threaten to bring legal action against them (either through the courts or through legal_hit rampaging through their office.)

I don't think suing lawyers is the best course of action. I'm pretty sure Legal is in the Goon Squad, though.

True, but if you had even an inkling of a case against them, they'd most likely settle for quite a tidy sum.

And I suppose it's not fair to let her have all the fun, is it?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

Thanks!.....

did you get this through an ad? or did an agency place you?

if you got placed, call them and ask what is going on.....

have you asked your boss what is up yet as well?

if you'd like to stay, bringing it up to her and starting a conversation on expectations/shortcomings could keep this from going further.

--and yes, if you are fired/let go/replaced you can collect. obviously, don't sign anything resigning your position (because then you can't).

sorry...:(

what case could one have?? all employment is basically 'at will'.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

It is semi-official (an associate thought it would be good to give me a heads up, I've yet to hear anything from my bosses); they're interviewing and I'm going to be let go/fired/whatever. I'm trying to scramble with job applications, but I'm not sure that I'll get enough out in time. I'm also not sure how unemployment works, so I feel very much up the creek without a paddle. :(

Oh no!:( I guess hope that things happen for a reason and that something better will come along:)

Playing with my new 26" HD Monitor/TV that I just got today for the dorm room. The Ultimate Dormroom(tm) is pretty much complete now, so it should make school halfway fun, maybe.

Just sneak into the boss' office when s/he is not there and take a dump on the desk.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

I just went out to eat with my gf, we went to burger jones in uptown. They have poutine! I was extremely excited because poutine is my favorite canadian delicacy. I also had a white trash burger, 1/2 lb patty with a slab of velveeta, 2 strips of chicken-fried bacon and cheese curds. Mmm, highly recommended for those of you in the twin cities.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

Q: Last night, I think our babysitter caught me looking down her shirt. She was wearing a cowl neck, so it wasn't that hard to do, and I thought she didn't notice. But then, when my wife and I came back, the babysitter noticably covered up when she bent over to pick up her purse. Given that she's the only relibably babysitter we have, should I refrain from looking in the future?
