Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

Morning Lodge! Had the next meeting/interview follow-up this morning to discuss the project I'd be on. Hopefully I managed to clear up some of the gray areas they asked me about. I think they were just trying to figure out how motivated I am, because the current IT Mgr. is also fairly new to the system they'll be migrating to and may not always know the solution to problems I might run into. I get the feeling this job will involve a lot of independence and self-training.

At any rate, I'm supposed to know by tomorrow whether or not the job is mine.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

Hi kids. Boy am I gald I left work early to go home with one of my headaches and missed that whole stoop vs. porch conversation last night. Of course, I did have to suffer through it just now. :p

Dentist apoointment went OK. Still have the headache but it's not as bad as it was yesterday. The last couple of months I'ev been having some pain around my sinus cavity around my right eye. Not sure if it's a sinus infection or not. I suppose I should try and get an appointment with my doctor, though I could be cured or dead by then. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

Good Afternoon Lodge!

In training all day, its pretty interesting stuff, so thats good.

Brent, MNS, Bakunin: That was possibly the dumbest argument I've ever read through on this message board.:p
For the record, back on the farm, we had porches, never heard anyone call them stoops. So I don't know where this farm hypothesis comes from.
I decided to take the last couple days off. Great timing as the weather has been perfect.

I need to go and replace my new PDA. I Bought a Verizon HTC. Piece of crap (IMHO). Probably going to get a Blackberry. Any advice?
Blackberry Storm is what I have, and I love it.
Today is my Friday and I have a four day weekend. :)

And another one next weekend. :D

On a sad note, someone shipped a package from Mexico to Russia ($421.63) using my primary credit card (Cabela's Visa). Fortunately, I caught it and the card was canceled before any more charges were made.
Congratulations on being an unwilling and necessary cog in the Mexican drug trade!

Morning Lodge

Holy crap monster!!!!!

Glad it turned out OK, overall, but that's quite the wound on your head!
I'm glad that I'm OK as well. Its much better than the alturnatives!!!:o :(

Good on you!

Your divot was obviously the most exciting post on the last pages. I can't believe pages on stoops, porches and steps. Sleeping is underrated by some of you:p

(why does TRP have interesting stuff and here have stuff about stoops?)

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! thursty thursd'y has arrived
Yeah, sleep is good.
I wonder how many Cabela's Points I'd accrue with that shipment!
:p
Wouldn't hurt to inquire about it. Hell, they did get ahold of your card to ship something, might as well get something out of it for your trouble. Threaten to cancel your card and they just might give you the points.

Is it football season yet?

Only six hours away for anybody with CBS College Sports Network tonight. ;) :D

If you're with VZ, I have the blackberry storm and absolutely love it. I've also heard good things about the BB Tour, but haven't had my hands on one to play with it.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

No.

But I did find a Michigan Marching Band cd as I was packing last night. I listened to it and am ready for football season now.

You know this is the longest I've ever had to go without a Michigan Football game in my life, I think I'm going through withdrawal pains.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

Gonzo, in case you are unaware, this did happen this past week  :

I was unaware :o
I don't know how DL feels, but I would consider that goof a bit over the top. Hopefully no one else innocently intercepted that package and caused him problems

Congratulations on being an unwilling and necessary cog in the Mexican drug trade!
Since I don't have to actually pay that amount, I'm happy to help. :)

Would have been a lot happier in the '70's, but time changes things ;)

A picture from my evening last night. About 6 pm last night, was out trying to give a horse some wormer right before we feed them last night. Mare didn't want anything to do with "Yummy Treat" we wanted to shove into its mouth. She threw a fit and reared up, and when she came down, either her teeth or her jawbone there caught me on top of my head and knocked me almost down to the ground. I stood up and started to balance myself and mom starts babbling about going to the hospital. I then notice that there was red stuff running down my face. Anyways, mom got me over to Herrick Hospital in Tecumseh. I must have been an impressive sight to see with a bloody face holding a maxi pad to the top of my scalp there. Mom keeps a box of them out in the barn for the boarders. Anywho, they gave me a tetanus shot and then shipped me off for a CAT scan. Was kinda grossed out when I looked up there and saw that there was some dried blood on the ceiling there. Then they waited around a bit and then they got around to numbing me up and putting some staples in. Eleven total there now. CAT came back and said nothing was broken in my head or neck, but odds were good that I might have a slight concussion. Considering that I just had a 1200+ pound animal clunk me on top of the head, I was pretty lucky.

Anywho, went to the Chiropractor this afternoon and they could barely move me. Normally, once I relax a bit, I'm popping and cracking. Today, maybe just a pop. Anywho, they did some other stuff with electrical stim and ultrasound, seemed to make the neck feel better for a bit. go back friday for some more treatment to try to keep ahead of it.

Yeah, and in addition to this whole mess the ref gave you a two minute minor for playing without a helmet. :D

Glad to hear you and the horse came out of the fiasco in relatively good shape. I hope you're a quick and thorough healer. Hang in there 74.

And even if he's not, I think they can just swap out parts. I hear Abby Normal has donated a brain. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

MI is borderline. I think Midwest, I think the 5-state area. IL, KS, NE, are also along the lines of MI, too. Could be either or.
The official Midwest goes east all the way to Ohio. Its stupid, but true.

 Glad you're ok!
Which is why I'm confused by the stoops are in the South thing. Southerners have porches, they've got the room.
I have relatives in the south whom I've visited since I was very small, and as most of the board knows I've lived in the south recently. I have never heard the term "stoop" used in the south. I would bet its more of a family-by-family thing than a regional thing, with the possible acception of the northeast.
At any rate, I'm supposed to know by tomorrow whether or not the job is mine.
Good luck!

The horse is only fine because I haven't gone after it with a whiffle ball bat yet.

hahahahaha!!

Oh, and could West Texas Wolverine shoot me an email, since he's disabled that feature on his profile. Oh, and CC to Hammer, Do you know if Frickers uses Comcast or Direct TV??

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

Well, I am back from the dental surgeon. The fake tooth that I had implanted 3.5 years ago had to be pulled due to it being loose. :( The good news is there was no charge for it and for the new implant in about 4 months. I assume the regular dentist will, however, charge for the new cap.

Bummer. :( At least the dental surgeon isn't charging to fix it.

 Don't remind me
Did Michigan play football in 2008???
