Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

It is semi-official (an associate thought it would be good to give me a heads up, I've yet to hear anything from my bosses); they're interviewing and I'm going to be let go/fired/whatever. I'm trying to scramble with job applications, but I'm not sure that I'll get enough out in time. I'm also not sure how unemployment works, so I feel very much up the creek without a paddle. :(

Sorry 'ewe :(

Good luck and all the best - I'm confident you'll land on your feet

Best of luck to you. :(

That makes it feel a little inappropriate to mention that I received a phone call an hour and a half ago, and was offered the position I've been talking about. I go in tomorrow to read/sign the contract and I start next Monday. :)

Used tampon in the coffee pot. Do it.

Bummer! Are they required to give you any amount of advance notice at all?

Congrats! Hope you enjoy it.

Heh -- I'll have to ask him about this.
Best of luck to you. :(

Hardly, just because things aren't going well for me right now doesn't mean that we shouldn't celebrate your accomplishments! Congratulations!

heh -- tempting, but we don't have a coffee pot. (pod coffee)

None. :( I've gotten a jump start, at least. Sent my resume to Harvard, BU, and a few other jobs. Spoke with a good friend at BU, hoping to get a little push. Spoken to my parents (who were bizarrely calm and reminded me not to jump off any bridges).

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

Oh wow, 'ewe, that sucks. If you want to check out any openings at my company, let me know and I'll definitely recommend you for something. And yes, if they do fire you, you can collect unemployment. It's not much, but it's something.

I second this thought. Though it would be infinitely more satisfying to threaten to bring legal action against them (either through the courts or through legal_hit rampaging through their office.)

Best of luck to you. :(

Probably best not to leave DNA evidence. ;) Ex-Lax in the water cooler though...

JF_Gophers: But the tv stations will still be too jerking off to Farva to notice.
