Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 79: A decade of USCHO

I slept most of mine away. Took a nap Friday night from 7-11:30 and then was up until 3:30. Yesterday was my nephew's 4th birthday party. Then today I slept until 11 AM. Dishes and laundry are done and burgers are about to get cooked for the week.

Nothing wrong with that! That's almost every weekend in the summer for me :)

This weekend was busy for us. We took a bereavement day on Friday for my grandma's viewing, then up at 7am for the funeral yesterday. The activities were wrapped up by 2, and we were home by 3. I fell asleep until 7:30, then couldn't go back to bed again until 3:30 last night.

I had no intentions of doing anything today (just taking a day to relax before getting back to a normal routine). We ended up going out to lunch with our friends for their anniversary, then the weather came knocking and I went in to work for the last 3 1/2 hours. So much for that do-nothing, relaxing day.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 79: A decade of USCHO

Spent my weekend at work, drinking copious amounts of coffee just to get through.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 79: A decade of USCHO

Checking in, Was a real nice wedding last night, lots of family that I haven't seen in a while, plus some retraining of the body for the upcoming celebration.

Today was super hot, went to an IMAX and met up with a friend who I haven't seen since high school a couple years ago, so that was nice. We saw 102 on the car thermometer this afternoon, and it sure felt like it, but it was welcomed for the most part.

Heading home tomorrow, so will be carbound for 12 hours or so, assuming no traffic issues. Supposed to be over 100 again, but more towards 80 back home.

Batter stands on the dock, everyone else is in the water. You get a hit, you dive in and swim to first (or beyond). The bases tend to wander, and the rules aren't exactly set in stone. This year, we didn't have many fielders, so we just ruled certain hits HRs or Doubles.
Sounds like it would be fun on a hot day.
That wasn't the problem. I was out bike riding and, because of the heat, decided to take the Metro home from Dunn Loring and not ride the last about 15 miles. They were fixing track and sending trains in both directions on a single track. That amounted to a half-hour delay. The train was packed due to Nationals fans going to a game which caused me to have to stand while trying to keep both me and my bike upright. It wasn't fun. At least the air conditioning was working. :)
Yeah, but you still had to stand next to Nationals fans. ;) :D

Good evening Lodge. Back from vacation. Had a great time even if it was in WI.;) Weather was all over the place. Nasty storms Saturday evening that had me on edge for a bit.

Mmmm Whiskey and 1554 to end the weekend. Even met a blonde with fake **** while I was at the bar.

Spent time with the relatives on Saturday. Nice for them since they all live in other states.

I seem to recognize/remember seeing 1554 from the jar store, but can't place who brews it. A little help? And I take it that it's good?

Ugh. Ready for a somewhat stressful week.
Gotta pack for CO.

Buy a couple pints at Old Chicago for BPH when we meet for beers on Tue for giving me a ride to the airport at an ungodly hour in the morn (flight is tentatively at 8:45am on Thu....I usually get up for work at 8. Slight schedule change there).

Buy a sixer of Sunset Wheat for SloeVag (can't get that beer in CO, and that ahem "kitten" loves the stuff).

Withdraw trip money from the bank (straight cash, homey ;) ).

Find a computer with a printer to get hardcopies of the flight itineraries. Workplace is not an option.

Work in subpar weather (hot'n'humid, and it's been real busy). Note: I'm not complaining about the weather. I'm complaining about WORKING in the weather. :p

Schedule (and hopefully have) our FFL Draft Lottery to see where we draft in 3 weeks (I'm hosting the lotto).

Hopefully coordinate a timeframe on when my CO Springs friends are picking me up in Denver on Saturday for the transfer of The Rube to the Springs. :)

Individually, fine. No prob. Lots of little things/details.....I admit, I kinda stress. Too many opportunities for snags in the plan. :o

But when I finally arrive.......oh baby I'm going total Rube for the weekend. To quote a great actor in a superhero movie....."Wait'll they get a load of me!"

Morning!

I refuse to believe drinking last night is making me feel like crap now. :o

T-Minus 2 days to the new TV... mmmmm HD. *drool*

It's a New Belgium brew (99% sure). If you like dark beer its delicious.

Public library usually has online access and print for a dime a page.

Morning Lodge.

Got into work today and found a bunch of parts on my desk. Not sure why they are here. Went through my e-mails, no explination. No voicemail. I'm tempted to throw these in the trash since whoever put them here didn't bother to tell me why or what they expect me to do with them.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 79: A decade of USCHO

'Morning, Lodge!

Just went for a nice 3-mile run. Debating getting the rest of my unpacking done or heading back outside because it actually FEELS like summer!! :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 79: A decade of USCHO

hehe, I did enjoy corrupting you last night. ;)
That could be taken in so many terrible ways.

Good morning everyone! :]
I'm busy writing 3 articles for our MI BPA newsletter which were due a week ago, and I procrastinated until now, the day that the Historian's sending everything to the editor...
Rough, rough, rough night last night, but at least I didn't fall down the stairs like last week.

12 days until Orientation, 21 days until class starts.
