I'll keep re-using this quote as long as it amuses me.
Did I tell you that I found out that he's gay?
...so he thought you were a dude and kept on going even after he realized you didn't have a dick down there?

Howdy Everyone!

Weekend was good, despite the brutal humidity. Golfed in the club championship Saturday and Sunday, and the humidity made that quite miserable. But I was tied for the lead in my flight after Sat. so I behaved myself and didn't drink that night (unlike last year). I ended up winning my flight by 1 stroke after nearly giving away a 7 shot lead that I had after about 11 holes.

Sounds like it would be fun on a hot day.
Yeah, but you still had to stand next to Nationals fans. ;) :D
The Nationals have fans?

brent: I am hoping to make it to BWW Tuesday night, I will let you know if I can't make it. Who all is going to be there?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 79: A decade of USCHO

That could be taken in so many terrible ways.

Good morning everyone! :]
I'm busy writing 3 articles for our MI BPA newsletter which were due a week ago, and I procrastinated until now, the day that the Historian's sending everything to the editor...
Rough, rough, rough night last night, but at least I didn't fall down the stairs like last week.

12 days until Orientation, 21 days until class starts.
Frankly, I'm surprized that nobody jumped on that right away. We got us a bunch of slackers here. ;)

:D :D

Buy a couple pints at Old Chicago for BPH when we meet for beers on Tue for giving me a ride to the airport at an ungodly hour in the morn (flight is tentatively at 8:45am on Thu....I usually get up for work at 8. Slight schedule change there).

Wuss. My flight to Las Vegas next Monday is at 6:00am.

For those of you keeping score at home, I have decided that going forward I will keep my mouth shut when it comes to matters regarding MIL, FIL and BIL. If and when things ever get to the point of impacting me or my wife or my kids I have no problem stepping up and dealing with it in my own way. However, in the meantime I am just going to drop it and kick back and watch these idiots chase their tails.

Whoa.
Sounds like FIL didn't get through to the other IL's after you and he chatted. Well, good luck with your plan moving forward. You have to do what's best for your immediate family, and I'm sure you always will.

More or less. I get the impression that if I stick to my guns that eventually things will turn and I will be the loser in the end. (even though my case/argument has been backed up with concrete facts and everyone else has nothing) Bottom line, certain family members are so caught up in their own little worlds that perception has become reality.

Yep. This is why we don't speak with my wife's family.

Morning Lodge.

Got into work today and found a bunch of parts on my desk. Not sure why they are here. Went through my e-mails, no explination. No voicemail. I'm tempted to throw these in the trash since whoever put them here didn't bother to tell me why or what they expect me to do with them.

You're an engineer - build something with them. Doesn't matter what, or that it makes no sense, just put them together and put it on your desk.

Congrats bbdl!! Did you get anything out of it? Gift card to the pro shop?

Good idea. You will never win. The pain of reality and the need to change everything that life is based on (if reality is acknowledged) is going to over-ride any logic you provide.

No- reality is too painful to deal with and it is much happier to pretend that all is well. As long as no one tells the emperor he has no clothes all are happy. Sad but true. Kudos for standing up for yourself. No matter what you have stirred the pot enough that no one is going to be able to totally ignore it even when they try really hard. I predict there will be little cracks in the walls and in the next yr or 2 it will start to fall down by itself.
