Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #2*2*7*6: It's Summer, why is there MATHS?!

Good Morning, Lodge!

Back to the grind today after a 3-day weekend.

I learned this in culinary math: Recipe Conversion Factor. Take the amount of people you want to serve (New) and divide it by the servings in the old recipe (Old). Take that result and multiply everything in the old recipe by it.
So you mean understanding ratios.....the math from about 4th grade?

So, the weekend was pretty fun. Sounds like they made a profit on the concert again, so they're going to raise the bar again next year. Can't wait to see who they get next year.

Trace Adkins was a good show, I'm leaning towards he wasn't as good as Craig Morgan, last year, though. Still, very entertaining. The street was packed, I think there were easily more people there than last year. We did a bar hop before the show, including 2 different bars that State of Hockey walked into, looked around, and said "I've been here before!" We got to one place with Spotted Cow on tap, another with about 35 craft beers on tap, and a local brewpub/taphouse which had amazingly good pizza. Then we went to my aunt's house, and destroyed about 2 dozen Lime-A-Ritas.

I've only been in the office for two hours and I could use a nap. This isn't going to go as I had hoped today. And I have a 3:00 presentation on testing practices for a data router.

One hell of a dream last night, even for my standards. Involved a local bakery, a former poster, and Casey Kasem.

No, I'm not joking.

I assume that they weren't baked pancakes. ;)

I went onto Wikipedia at work, ended up spending a bit of time reading articles and just clicking more links. I ended up reading the wiki article on Trace Adkins, who Me, gf, MNS and State of Hockey saw in concert this weekend. Aparently the guy has been through some ****! When he was a teenager he hit a bus, head-on with his truck, broke both arms, a leg and his face. He played DE at Louisiana Tech (I was pretty sure he played football there when we chatting at the concert), where he had a catostophic knee injury. Then he went to work on an oil rig, where he cut off a finger trying to open a can with a knife. Lastly, he was SHOT by his crazy ex-wife, through the heart and lungs in the early '90's. Holy ****. He also was in "The Lincoln Lawyer", and won Celebrity Apprentice. What a life.

I think Craig Morgan was definitely better. And that pizza was really good. Too bad it's all the way down in Red Wing. Thankfully, it didn't start raining until after the concert.

If it ever quits raining, I'll start grilling.

It's plain to see your dream is an obvious and desperate cry for help. The Red Wings are on the golf course and the Tigers are heading on a 'brutal' road trip to play the Royals and Twins. Your life as you know it is now virtually meaningless and you sought momentary respite by stuffing your face with chocolate layer cake while listening to Casey Kasem spin a pile of songs from one hit wonders.

Either that or you ate some bad clams for dinner. I dunno.

Cinnamon roll at 11 PM. Brilliant idea.

Pasties and 'diva?

No. Not even close. If you know that poster I'm about to mention, you'll certainly understand why.

Okay. Story time. Early this morning, I had a *d up dream. I went to a bakery in the town in which I work, only it wasn't in that town, it was now located in the one I grew up in. It was colder than hell, as it was snowing outside, and we wanted donuts at the office. So here I am in this bakery, getting chocolate donuts, and arguing with a former client. Next thing I remember, Casey Kasem is trying to sell me this bakery, while a former poster (TA Jen) is now working behind the counter for some reason, MF-ing clients and generally swearing at everyone and everything in sight.

Soon after that, I woke up to realize that the power went out, and I was almost late for work. *shrug*
