Good Morning, Lodge!
Good Morning, Lodge!
Sounds lovely.Sunny but cool here in Bemidji. Just had room service deliver lunch and we ate out on the deck. Sun feels good.
The g family is getting ready to take a bike ride around the the lake. First ride of the year and were starting with a 18 mile ride.
Sounds lovely.
Making a cake for a grad party. For 40 people. Never done this before. Figure if it doesn't come out I will go to Costco and buy one. Thinking of Shirtless.
Cake done. Phew. Came out OK. Took forever but everything went smoothly. Must have been channeling Shirtless.
Have a cake pan that is a bit oversized with straight sides so regular cake recipe usually comes out flat so did 2 batches to make a taller cake. Made one chocolate cake, one vanilla. Used vanilla frosting. Pipied some melted semisweet choc onto parchment to make music notes. Came out pretty cool looking. Proud of myselfWhat kind was it? Did you frost it too?? Mmmmm, cake.

Yum. Cupcakes sound good!OK, that sounds like a cake I would eat. Now I need something chocolate. I should make cupcakes. Well, not now. But at some point.
Bike ride was awesome today. Great weather and scenery and spent it with my family. Got back to our place and took a dive in the lake. Oh my...........it was just a little cold. (the lake had ice on it just a few weeks ago)
Currently sitting around a huge bon fire. The temp is cool enough in which the heat of the fire feels great. No wind. Clear sky. Stars everywhere. Fifty feet from the lake. Kids are out of gas and sleeping. mrs g by my side. Surrounded by good friends. Top shelf bourbon. Life is good.
I learned this in culinary math: Recipe Conversion Factor. Take the amount of people you want to serve (New) and divide it by the servings in the old recipe (Old). Take that result and multiply everything in the old recipe by it.Sounds lovely.
