Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #189: The Winter of our Discontent.

Evening, Lodge. Found out my original BigBoss at my company is retiring as of this Friday. He's at corporate in CHI now, but most of his years were at my building. Went from PT truck loader to corpie with no degree. Hard work and smarts got him there. One of my better bosses, for sure. Kind of a shock, he's not even 60. He just made the most of his money. Definitely learned a lot from him, and completely respected him. He was harsh at times, but always fair and consistent. Called you on your BS, but then kept talking with you so you understood, etc, etc, and also made sure to let you know when you were on your game.

I owe a lot to him, in the way I advanced in this company.

That's awesome

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #189: The Winter of our Discontent.

Full day today

Eating dinner at SFO now. Meet face to face first time with new work peeps (scots, Turks and Kuwaiti's). Good people. Think (hope) this is gonna work out. Truly can't think of a better position for Mookie where he is. Really couldn't even draw this up cause the exposure is more than could even be on the radar if he tried.
Then the plane crash in Melbourne that's in the news was with guys who are in a golf society that Mookie belongs to. He knows (knew) 2 of them. What is worse (if possible) is he also met the wife of one. This was a couples trip and the guys went golfing while the women went shopping. So now the women are there having to ship everything home. Just horrible.

A question for those in the Boston area:

RPI received a commitment from Mat Harris of the Boston Jr. Bruins yesterday. In a post that he wrote about six years ago, he mentions that his father writes for a Boston newspaper. A bit of googling resulted in the name Stephen Harris of the Boston Herald who is a sports writer. Does anyone know if Mat is his son?

Who reads newspapers??

:D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #189: The Winter of our Discontent.

Millie hates the thought of paying for it on the inner et. There is enough free stuff that there is no reason to pay.

Mookie does grab the free ones when he stays at hotels and such...
But paying is a thing of the past

(Don't they cost like $2/day - NOT talking about the Sunday)

Good Morning, MEUSA! :)

Good Morning to the rest of tLodge! :)

I went back and read some posts to catch up and this is one of the first posts I stumbled across. I just puked a little bit in my mouth. Now I have puke breath and I need to go brush my teeth.

Good morning Lodge.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #189: The Winter of our Discontent.

Am I missing a reference with this name? Or is it just a joke about its more effective use? Google yields nothing of substance.

It's the Minneapolis Star Tribune, and yes, at times using it as a diaper would be a more effective usage for it.

Pretty much. Really ****ty newspaper. They have only a few redeeming qualities, like Russo for Wild coverage. Anything they report on the University of Minnesota is complete bull**** and unprofessional, because of some silly axe to grind with the school from years past. And I say this as a non-Gopher fan.
