And then we come to the first turn.

Nice little downhill sweeper with a 25 MPH advisory sign posted.

Your brakes strain to haul your heavy cars to a manageable speed.

I don't even bother to downshift, divebomb in doing 50, and don't even chirp the tires.

The answer is always Miata, boys.

/or I blow it and go plunging off Squaw Pass

There IS that one curve on the way to Houghton, want to say it's after that last right at the last T in the road coming from Bruce Crossing....they say 45, and they friggin' mean it. Downhill and tight(er) curve. Very deceptive curve. You're thinking you can still do 55, and then.....well, not really.

I rode US-41 to Copper Harbor in a Jeep Cherokee once. That was an...enlightening experience.

Tail of the Dragon is on my bucket list, but there are cops swarming all over that thing. And I ain't quite got the chops yet.

I've driven to Houghton in some sort of newer Buick sedan, and a Wrangler. Very different experiences with those roads. Not sure what Tail Of The Dragon is.

This year, our group will have a Harley, Bimmer, MDX, Camaro, and a Firebird. That should be a fun drive to Copper Harbor. :D
