Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #189: The Winter of our Discontent.

Been waiting to diversify my investments for several years, probably too long (but hey, I'm young, risk is OK). Finally pulled the trigger today. I was over-invested in my company stock previously, but after it has gone up nearly $8/share in the last 3 days, and is now nearly $150/share, I figured I should take the opportunity to strike when it is sky high. So, still probably over-invested in company stock, but not as much so, and in a bit safer position.

I did the same last year, though we've never been $150/share - we split before that happens.

The last time we split it was just over $150...I have been waiting for a split, but I don't think we will split now, even if we do go up above $150. Maybe if we get around $170 I could see it.

Ours peaked around $120 when oil prices were at their peak (not surprising, considering that's our main commodity that we transport). We've since been floundering around $55-70. Good time for me to buy, though I didn't sell before it fell.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #189: The Winter of our Discontent.

So we have a rich guy who has a winter and summer car in the Lodge?

Good Morning Lodge! Sun after a few days of ick. Nice out!

Maybe not. Rosie is p*ssed at me. She wouldn't start today. Ran fine on Saturday. I don't think she likes being outside for days on end and not being used.

To be serious, she might really be dead. Gonna try to start her up again tomorrow, because I'm sure my apt complex wants the lot clear for plowing, but I dunno. Maggie handled the snow fine. It was a little slippery out, especially on the frontage road I work on (the semis really pack down the snow, and oftentimes it becomes glare ice, like today). I took it easy, still finding my legs with this new sort of power under the hood, and no problems at all.

Good Morning, MEUSA! :)

Good Morning to the rest of tLodge! :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #189: The Winter of our Discontent.

Good morning Lodge! Nice and sunny today. Hopefully quiet as well. I need to get in the habit of drinking water. So, whenever you guys randomly post in here, ask me how much water I've drank today. I need to find a way to keep track of it. I have a post it on my monitor where I check off how many bottles. My baseline goal per day in the office is four.

I have 32 oz Nalgene bottles I bring to work each day. Very easy to keep track of how much water I drank.

However, this morning I had chocolate milk. Made me think of Les.
We had our "manager's breakfast", where management cooks pancakes and sausage for everyone. There was juice and boring white milk, this was the first year someone brought chocolate milk. I am now very full and ready for a nap.

You have a kitchen there? That's kinda cool. How is there no one to provide coffee???? But kudos to whoever brought chocolate milk. That's my go to breakfast beverage when there is no coffee.

I used to work with a woman who would drink a quart of chocolate milk each morning. She was not a small woman, though she was short.

I find amusement from the fact that you referred to a V6 as a "new sort of power under the hood".

We have a cafeteria with some sinks, but no kitchen. People bring in electric skillets to cook the pancakes and sausage.
There's a coffee maker in the cafeteria. Coffee is always an option, but I don't really drink coffee.

Got my bonus check for last year. It was a good year. Got 50% more than I expected. :D

Good Evening, Lodge!

Just got home from work. We had our annual open house and I have taken over the roll of bartender. Guess what?! I only had 1, yes 1, beer with all the beer at my disposal.

I mean, the Jeep had power, but it wasn't for speed. ;) I tap the accelerator in Maggie and she's doing 35-40. An OC bartender and I were talking and we agreed: the Jeep, at highway speed is like a hummingbird; blink and it's 3 lanes over. The Camaro, it just glides over, and all of a sudden you're going 15 miles faster and you don't even notice it.

How much water has Scarlet drank today? :)

I have a liter bottle at work for water. I usually go through 3-4 bottles in winter, twice as much in summer.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #189: The Winter of our Discontent.

So, um, I'm going to the Super Bowl. My cousin texted me and said he has a game ticket, rest was up to me. Since it's just me, I went on Travelocity, found a flight, hotel and rental car. Was wondering about it and thought why the heck not? I need all of you to think happy, positive thought for good weather. I fly home Monday, land about 4:30pm and go straight to the Beanpot.
