Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #189: The Winter of our Discontent.

*HT.

However, this weekend still will be a success. Going to a special bottle release tomorrow in Stillwater, MN. Having a great lunch (Smalley's) with a buddy, having fun with a sort of scavenger hunt that will benefit a F Cancer rally a beer group is having for a member of said group (everyone is auctioning/raffling a cellared/rare beer from their collection, all proceeds go to help with med bills), and then making some beer trades on Monday.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #189: The Winter of our Discontent.

HHT, sorry Ralph. Just landed in Tampa, looking forward to sleeping in my own bed for the first time in almost 2 weeks.

HHT!

Seriously?

You did well. I think Minis look like chick cars. :p
I like 'em. Sue me. I know 'ewe and tcbg have them, and they have had no probs with winter. Sporty bulldogs. *shrug* And I agree, I did well. It was a nice find that I got.

I like Minis, but their fatal flaw is the fact that they're owned by our Teutonic friends at Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, so maintenance is ten times more expensive than it needs to be. (Sorry 'ewe.)

My bro has been a mechanic for 20 years. I have an edge in the cost factor. ;)

Unless it has four rings on the grill :D

Meanwhile, my Miata has 81K on the clock and easily another 100K ahead of it.

That is, until I inevitably do something stupid like pay a visit to Flyin' Miata in Grand Junction and drop in an LS1.

That is true about the 4 rings. He won't touch those f*ers.

It's go-kart for adults.
And depends which Mini and what year. The Paceman is actually pretty big and there was a phase in which all of the models were wicked bloated/puffy. The newer models have slimmed back down. I do love the suicide door trunk (mine doesn't have that feature) as well. I think the convertibles look ridiculous (not girly).

Tcbg has a Honda Civic, but he does love putting the Cooper in Sport mode and taking off on back roads.
Sporty bulldog is spot on. I got mine used with about 86000. It has 109K and this is the first year of the big cost repair.

This was the first experience with that and it was a gouging. I went in for the inspection and left 2K lighter... :(

I preferred the style that had that bloated back end. I never looked into the exact model, and it's not exactly common. Best description I could think of, and forgive me, was a comparison to a woman: pear shaped.

And honestly, the Camaro is sorta similar. She has a big arse as to the rest of the body.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #189: The Winter of our Discontent.

I would like to sincerely thank the ******* in the pickup truck doing 58 in a 65 in the fast lane. Hegave me the opportunity to do a power pass going from 58 to 75ish in about 0.2 seconds (estimated). That was rather fun. :D

HHT! And look who blows it to the last place team in the nation...

Clarkson still sucks!
