Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #189: The Winter of our Discontent.

I mean, the Jeep had power, but it wasn't for speed. ;) I tap the accelerator in Maggie and she's doing 35-40. An OC bartender and I were talking and we agreed: the Jeep, at highway speed is like a hummingbird; blink and it's 3 lanes over. The Camaro, it just glides over, and all of a sudden you're going 15 miles faster and you don't even notice it.

How much water has Scarlet drank today? :)

I have a liter bottle at work for water. I usually go through 3-4 bottles in winter, twice as much in summer.

The 4.0 had like 190hp (235 lb-ft)...which is only 21hp less than the new Artic Cat Thundercat, which is a snowmobile, btw. :p The Camaro is a huge power upgrade over the jeep, with 335hp (284 lb-ft). My point was....shocking, to see a V6 referred to as "having power".

Just for reference, my truck has 395hp (410 lb-ft), and it is a dog, I'll admit it. My old truck had 350hp, but also had 650 lb-ft, so the thing had snort. It was not a dog. And, for fun, the Hellcat 6.2 makes 707hp and 650 lb-ft. Now that is a modern muscle car.

Pfft my Elantra has like 154 hp. :D

It's all I what you want out of a vehicle. Brent and bbdl want to spend money at the gas station and make up for small wangs :D. You and I want better fuel efficiency because we travel farther to/from the office.

Would be pretty **** difficult to pull an enclosed snowmobile trailer with a Hyundai...

Saw a dodge caravan towing a standard car, which had another vehicle on one of those front wheel trailers behind it last night here in Houston. It looked about as safe as it sounds.

Done classes for the week, flying home tonight until Wednesday!

Sounds like the fast track to a ****ed up transmission.

Actually, I get better gas mileage in the Camaro than my Jeep. Way better. I got about 18-19 on the highway in the Jeep. I get at least that in the city in the Camaro (although it is listed as 19 city/30 highway).

And the 4.0 Jeep DID have a 6cyl, bbdl. ;) But you probably knew that.

And honestly, my choices came down to a Mini Cooper, Camaro, or if I HAD to, Hyundai Genesis (actually found some in good shape within my budget).

Yeah, that 4.0 Jeep I6 isn't bad engine, just doesn't make huge power. See also: Chevy 350, Mopar 318, etc.

*HT

and *Boston/BU. Went this AM and tried to park in garage (listed as open on website- first come, first serve. Get there, wait 10 minutes to have 3 cars including a team van turned away. They want me to park 2 miles away. The woman has no idea where that is. I am supposed to be taking pics in 20 minutes and I am also a female, alone and going to be getting out at 9pm (no way in hell I am walking 2 miles at that time of night to a parking spot). Been to this meet for the last 3 yrs. Never had this BS.

I wrap around to ask the policeman. He points me to a parking spot, kindly tells me it has 4 h parking. Feed the meter and I should be all set after 6PM. I run out in the middle and feed the meter. Total 10$. Come out to a 40$ ticket.

The guy in the booth in the afternoon told me there was never a restriction when I asked if it was going to be the same tomorrow. SO now I am 50$ in the hole, I can't trust the BU website or the police. Just a little miffed.
