I've only flown in one of those 2/1 row planes once. I wasn't nervous until I had to really duck just to get in the door, followed by the announcement that a couple volunteers needed to move to the back of the plane to even out the weight of the plane. I understood why that needed to happen, and all, but that's still a little bit of an eye-opener. Let's just say I was wide-awake that flight.
A buddy of mine, his family used to own a Cessna 174(?), a four-seater, single-engine plane. When I was on it during our weekend trips to visit another buddy in IA City, and I was weighing in close to 300lbs then, the heavy gear was stored behind my buddy. He didn't say the words, but it was clear what his intentions were at the time. They likely do the same on the bigger crafts, but can do a lot of that with balancing the luggage rather than moving around their passengers.I've only flown in one of those 2/1 row planes once. A little ashamed to admit it, but I just went to my first ever Tim Horton's. Also had my first Timbit. I bought a 40 pack, assorted, for the office. Was walking past the one in Dinkytown and had to stop in.
Bigger aircraft have computer based weight and balance, center of gravity systems. Different types of planes have different peculiarities, the DC-10/MD11s are a particular b***h.A buddy of mine, his family used to own a Cessna 174(?), a four-seater, single-engine plane. DinkytownWhere else have they put in Tim Horton's? I heard rumors about the Mall of America, but the chances of me going there any time other than a pit stop if I'm stuck at the office later than the buses run from downtown Minneapolis to Apple Valley. That's when I have to take the LRT to the MOA and then the "Red Line" bus from the MOA to the AV transit station.
I have never had Horton's. I will at some point, but won't go out of my way for it.
Good call.
I'm curious, don't get me wrong. But not driving half hour just for that.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again - I've never even had Dunkin' Donuts. They don't have them around here anymore, and my parents never took me to them when they were in MN back in the 80s. The closest I've ever been to a DD was in the basement of The Termini in Rome (their main train station). I was in Italy to eat American fast food.
