Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #186: Summer Heat

Before it was legal, it was the worst kept secret in town. Saw many a transient and many a transaction during my visits there. Kept to themselves at that time, dunno what it's been like since it was legalized...

Agreed. I support legalization (within reason), but Colorado is no stranger to the devil's lettuce, and since legalization they're still seeking that balance. Despite my skiing habit, I don't think I would move to Denver right now. Seattle seems to have handled WA's laws better, probably due to pricing out most of the kids. And Crystal Mountain, two hours from town, is secretly one of the better ski areas in this country.

Even though it's not for me, I agree.

I just like the setup of the Springs/Denver. I'm basically trading lakes for mountains. Weather/seasons are generally the same, economy is generally the same, and I've gotten along with all the people I've encountered there, they seem to have a similar attitude as MNs. I'd just have to find a way to see my Gopher hockey. ;)

Evening, Lodge. Currently 84 out, with 82 Dew Point. Yup. It's SOOOOOO wonderful outside.

If I didn't have to pick up MNS tomorrow, I'd already be in Houghton. The urge to leave is that bad.

Stopped at church today, and heard some stories from the manager, who's straight from Ireland. Very interesting and funny. He's headed back there in a couple weeks for vacation. For those who watched Sons Of Anarchy, he has the Jimmy O accent.

Funny how you MN folks sometimes get worse weather than us. It's 81/68 here, but the worst of the front is forecasted to be Friday & Saturday. Again, why couldn't I be in Chicago, with my hotel paying for the A/C? ;)

MN is one of the top climates in the world for extremes. It's insane.

Golfed 27 holes today in the lovely Florida summer heat and humidity today. Mid 90's and who knows how much humidity.

Atleast there was a decent breeze most of the day, had a brief shower during my evening 9 holes.

When I step out of the house and my glasses fog, it's not a comfy evening tonight.

I stepped out of my car and the same thing happened. It wasn't just a hazing either, they were frosted over completely.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #186: Summer Heat

I actually turned on my A/C yesterday. I *know*.

This humidity/dew point is sick.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #186: Summer Heat

Thunderstorms woke me up a little earlier than I wanted to wake up. Pretty good light show.

I think I'll be napping on the way up to Houghton; no I am not driving. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #186: Summer Heat

Good Morning Lodge.

A few fast moving T-storms cooled us down for a couple hours then will help increase the sauna effect today. We may set a record for heat index.

Morning.

It's 90+ and humid every day in NC. So I'm not impressed with this whine fest. :p
