Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #186: Summer Heat

Wait, what???? You don't live in Maine do you? Do you hear dueling banjos? Then why the hell is there no AC?

Most of the time we are fine. We usually don't have sustained heat for days on end. We live on a hill and opening the windows in the AM catches the updraft. Close up in the heat of the day and the house stays cool. We have been > 90 for quite a few days. Not working anymore. :(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #186: Summer Heat

We might touch 100 on Friday. With thunderstorms. Could be looking at the same for Saturday.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #186: Summer Heat

Supposed to be hazy/hot/humid today with severe thunder storms around time for the commute home. The next two days in the 80s but Thursday it will be the start of four or five days in the 90s. I'm escaping and heading to Phoenix on Friday for the weekend, where it will be a balmy 112.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #186: Summer Heat

My house is scheduled to get the sidewalk from the driveway to my front door replaced this week. The townhome association is doing this to me, and I'm really not happy about it at all. Portions of the sidewalk have sunk a little bit, perhaps a 0.5" deviation between slots. Instead of sand-jacking the bad sections back into place, they've elected to completely replace the concrete. When they did this to my next door neighbor, the contractor created an even worse issue where the sidewalk meets the driveway and thus built up a crude ramp to "fix" the new issue. I'm really not looking forward to this at all. Plus, I won't be allowed to salt my sidewalk at all next winter.

I have a meeting with my boss in about 20 minutes to go ver my first pass at my mid-year review. Ugh. I spent about two hours yesterday writing it up.

Thunder just woke me from a sound sleep. Am a little skittish about thunderstorms and am here by myself. Ensconced on the couch now, wrapped in blankets, cowering.

The opening track to AC/DC's Live album must not give you the warm fuzzies the way it does for me. :)

Another of our "300 days of sunshine" on tap here as well.

I wanna go outside and play video games, dammit!

Good Morning Lodge! Where is everyone?

978 land is supposed to be oppressively HHH today. No AC. Hunkering down.

If I didn't have central air and it was hot and humid for a week? I would be dead before the end of day 2. Twenty below zero. All day. Every day.

Checked in at cityslickerville. I plan on being here all week for work.

You should make your way to Braemar either tomorrow or Thursday night for a 4-on-4 league with a number of NHL and AHL players in it. Jr and I may go tomorrow.

That would be fun. For sure tomorrow and Wednesday I will be "working" into the evening each day.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #186: Summer Heat

Evening, Lodge.

Another long day of work today, but I don't care anymore, due to the short week. Also, found out that they interviewed 2 people last week, including a fellow church-goer that was looking to switch jobs. Decent guy, it'd be nice if it worked out for him (and my company).

As for weather, it'll be "hot" in Houghton, too. ALMOST 90 on Thursday, then back to low 80s in the area where we will be travelling about. Guessing the wind off Lake Superior will make it feel a bit cooler, too (staying in Eagle River, right on the lake).

Very much looking forward to it.
