Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Got mom to her doctors appointment today, and yeah, the doctor sees why she wants a new hip. A little luck here and she'll be going in about a month for the replacement. Just as long as its not next week as I'm going to Chicago for a little vacation and a class I'm taking in Evanston.

I'd say so.

We all know about Phoenix. But the 5-day forecast for Plano: highs are supposed to be 99-99-100-99-103. And that 99 on the 4th is going to be the last day with highs in the double digits for the duration. Lows between 78-80 every night. Tonight is the coolest at 76.

60° here in North MPLS right now. It is amazing.

Hi Lodge. Here in the office. Was hoping to take today off but too much to do. Plus I have my first meeting with my "mentor" as part of my development program. Taking Tuesday off though. It's weird not having to work over the 4th. I am going to the show though, as a guest this time.

Good Afternoon, Lodge!

Spent the morning in the warehouse and then the next 2 hours in a car running errands. Fun driving to Woodbury, then Baldwin (Wisconsin) and back to Prescott. Get back in time to clock out and drive in my car back to Eagan. Fun day. Apparently there is some kind of holiday coming up that involves fireworks as the exit, that has 2 fireworks shops right there, to Baldwin had a little traffic jam.

Gorgeous fall-like day. 74, low dewpoint. All the windows open, grill ready for some tuna steaks and the table on the screened porch is set, wine is chilled. Let the weekend begin - as soon as Jr gets home from work.

Had to work a full day because of course. Bored out of my mind, maybe had 4 pallets of stuff TOTAL from 2pm on (normally it's 4-5x that). There were 30 minute stretches where there was NOTHING to do.

Meeting up with some friends at a local taproom in a bit, hopefully we can get a table outside. Also, one of my closest friends is in town to see his family, but he's going to try and get away for a couple hours to hang out. Haven't seen him since the week of bbdl's wedding (he lives in Madtown).

But it's a dry heat

Vacation. And not a moment too soon.

3 weeks until mine. I so need it.

The taproom was a pleasant break, though. Some decent music; apparently the guy playing tonight was a finalist to make it to TV tapings of American Idol and The Voice. Did a mix of covers/originals. Didn't pay TOO much attention, but it was basic coffeehouse/taproom acoustic music to chill to. Good beer, of course. Beautiful night out helped.

I think I've settled into a very nerdy Friday night routine these days. Typically play in the Friday Night Magic tournament (or FNM as we call it) at my local shop then, by the time I get home, there's an Aussie rules match usually on FS1 I can watch.

Between watching enough matches and YouTube I think I've got Aussie rules figured out.
