Good Noon Lodge!
RFalph- you still showed up ridiculously early in the AM. Either the library is open or you computer is still functional

There. TV moved, no longer on the wall. No dropped TV. No earth-shattering kaboom. Satellite now re-setting. Progress, I think. I just have to get my new TV stand home, and patch a couple holes in the wall from the original TV wall mount from 9 years ago, and get the living room re-configured, and we're all set, I think.

Starting to figure that out myself. After I cut cable, I have no use for two tvs. Brother is taking one, eventually, and will have to re-configure my living room. Found that for space, a super La-Z-Boy isn't in the cards for space; when reclined, it would take up too much room. So, planning minor adjustments to max the available space.

Sitting around the fire table listening to the John Phillip Sousa Memorial Band over in the park. It's about 1/2-3/4 miles away but nice breeze from that direction is carrying the music pretty well. Much better than most years. The band is local and was the brainchild and still directed by a high school classmate. When they finish up, the fireworks start.

In a similar vein, I love fall around my place. Can hear the Hopkins HS band during football games from my patio. Totally a simple pleasure.

Come to think of it, I miss hearing the marching bands from when I lived at my parents' house. We could hear Rosemount's band practicing in the school's parking lot roughly 2 miles east by road, maybe 1.5 as the crow flies. The Eastview band could be heard too, which makes more sense as it was only a half-mile to the west. The same goes for when they were playing at athletic events, not just football games.

Those are a couple of pretty good bands, too.

Yeah, Rosemount's been good for a long time. The band was highly thought of when I went to school there in the early- to mid-90s, and they pretty much kept that level of respect since then. They're going to a big event next year, one of the big parades - Rose Bowl or Macy's parades, I forget which. I have a niece in the band now, this is something I should probably know. Eastview High School didn't open until the 96-97 school year, so I had no idea how their band was received. I have another niece who played there until she graduated last year, but she never made it sound like they had any big events happening. Oddly enough, the two nieces are sisters and the family never moved houses yet they went to different schools. Oh, the odd things that happen when a single district has four high schools and open academic enrollment.

Your niece probably knows my cousin's kid. Actually my cousin's grandson. My cousin was about 11 years older than me and he had his first daughter pretty early in life so I am closer to her than to him in many ways. It's her son in the Rosemount band now. He has an older brother who is now a section leader in the UMN marching band who also played for Rosemount.

Good afternoon Lodge.

We pulled out of the campsite at 7 this morning. Arrived home around noon. Twins game tonight at 7 and run back home. When it's all over we will have spent nearly 10 hours in the car today assuming we hit absolutely zero traffic in cityslickerville.

It may not be zero, but it's pretty close to it comparatively. Very light coming in while leaving much later than usual this AM.

Weather not looking good for the game tonight. Hope you get it in. Maybe with a delay.

First, the traffic was nasty from the moment we got on 94 in Alex all the way to the Target Field exit. Second, we encountered some nasty weather going through Rogers. It's quite fun l/reassuring being on a freeway stopped dead in traffic with a tornado siren gong off about 50 feet from you. Lastly, we are currently in the metropolitan club enjoying dinner and beverages. I have a funny feel g the first pitch might get delayed.......

If this game gets cancelled little g is going to flip his lid.
