Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

The sky is dark as night out there and sunset isn't due for another hour, give or take. Except when the lightning hits, then the sky is a nice shade of green. Hail's hitting my house right now, sounds somewhat big.The winds have more than a couple trees bending over right now, making me wonder how many broken ones we'll find when all is said and done.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Heavy, heavy rain here (twice) near Ridgedale/494-55 area. Also, the wind was insane. Going 20 mph, Jeep was still being pushed around.

There was a report on the news that a cornfield in St Michael (about 30 minutes north of me) was completely razed due to straight-line winds, and many trees were snapped in half. Pockets of neighborhoods don't have power, and dx reported on GPL that some major power towers were basically crumpled due to the winds.

Edit: but the Twins still are planning on playing. First pitch is 9:50pm. Yeah.

Good evening Lodge

At 9:00 when the Twins announced that the game would start at 9:50 we decided we couldn't stay. The good news? I called the ticket office ASAP to inquire what they could do for us. We got tix to tomorrow afternoon game. 12:15 start. The bad news? We will have to make another rip to cityslickerville in the morning as we pulled in our drive way around 11:40 this evening. We would have got a hotel but we couldn't find anyone to help with the dog.

For the record, the Twins announced that ticket holders to tonight's game could get another ticket to any game of their choice for ticket value or less if seats are available. Essentially 2 for 1.

"Please, come to our game and buy concessions. That's the only way we'll make ANY money this season/get people in the seats." ;)

Good Morning Lodge.

No damage that I saw in the City of Cakes. Lots of reports around the metro of flooding, downed trees, lost power, etc. but nothing too major. Some tornadoes to our SE, but otherwise just normal thunderstorm stuff last night.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

It may not be zero, but it's pretty close to it comparatively. Very light coming in while leaving much later than usual this AM.
Went away for the weekend to my Godmother's cottage. to get there 4:30h. Usually takes 2:15h. Everyone hit no traffic going home (4 groups of people all left different times)- no one hit traffic. Lil made record time 2:13h. My Aunt left earliest and saw 3 cars all the way to the major road (that is approx 1h of driving)

First, the traffic was nasty from the moment we got on 94 in Alex all the way to the Target Field exit. Second, we encountered some nasty weather going through Rogers. It's quite fun l/reassuring being on a freeway stopped dead in traffic with a tornado siren gong off about 50 feet from you. Lastly, we are currently in the metropolitan club enjoying dinner and beverages. I have a funny feel g the first pitch might get delayed.......

If this game gets cancelled little g is going to flip his lid.
No thanks.

We had quite the light show last week but nothing impressive in a bit

Good Morning Lodge!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Arrived at Target Field at 10:30. It's sunny!

I'm ready for a nap.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Back home!

I'm ready for bed. Can't wait to head back to the office tomorrow so I can rest up from vacation.

Good morning Lodge. Heading to Chicago this morning. Got here early. You know, I'm probably going to jinx it, especially since I fly home from O'Hare on Saturday, but ever since all those news reports about long TSA lines, I've had no issues with length of security lines. I was sitting at the gate with my coffee at 7:10 for a 9am flight.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

My oldest turned 23 today so we'd went to Ruth's Chris for dinner. So good...
