Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

One more new hire today, and another interviewed. Staff is on its way to being back to normal.

Also, had a convo on Mon about leaving work from off-site w/no OT tonight. If that convo hadn't happened, I would have worked 1.5 hours OT. *whew* Thankfully, even after I asked if we were good, mgmt (who is able to change their minds on such things) fulfilled my request.

But, there is a flipside. I have to go in an hour early tomorrow to fulfill a GIANT order from a known internet power located in Shakopee MN. My guesstimate is about 15 pallets, 8' high, of paper products. HOPING it only takes that extra hour to pick/consolidate. Yeah.

Just don't forget the smile.

Yeah, I won't forget that. A certain finger will do the talking. The order dropped in about 30 minutes before our cutoff, has to be there tomorrow. Even the sales rep was like WTeff? They are the Borg, I tell you (Star Trek joke).

Good Morning Lodge.

This mess of a project goes out today, then it should be back to more normal pace.

So Jr was going to work for the slumlord this morning and the street with the apartments is all taped off and swarming with cops and reporters. He's gaining valuable experience with the human condition.

Good Morning Lodge! (if you are in another time zone)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

So here I am thinking my travel will pretty much subside, with the exception of one last trip in September and a two-week long event here in our Boston office (no travel). We have this new program where we are inviting employee/friends/family and somehow managed to get four of them booked within the last two weeks. My co-worker who is overseeing that program is having scheduling issues so now I'm going to four events over the course of four weeks two in very hot areas - Phoenix and Plano, TX. Yay.

Blech. It is very hot there

Thanks for the kind words y'all.

Perfect lake weather yesterday and today, and the forecast looks steady and dry.. Enjoying my last few days unemployed the right way!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Good Evening, Lodge!

Even more short-handed at work. I got the opportunity to run errands today at work. Drove to Red Wing for a pick up in the morning and Woodbury for a delivery in afternoon. It is funny how the person who does it normally, takes 3 hours to go from Prescott to Red Wing and back. It took me about 1.5 hours.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Work was hell today. On top of that huge order this morning, add in the last day of the month and quarter rush, AND the last "real" work day before a holiday weekend. All the ugh. HOPEFULLY, tomorrow will be dead and I can start my weekend early. Given the weather this weekend, and our average customers' habits (most are outdoors-type people), I think that will happen.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

We were busy today as well. Everyone decided to transfer their money to another company today, and did it poorly. Nothing in good order. I went into what my co-workers call my "beast mode", where I dial the number and start talking to the other person as I'm still getting everything pulled up and I don't actually know what is wrong with their request yet. They don't understand how I can do it. I tell them it's because I came from the call center, where you had to do that 80-100 times a day.

I have tomorrow off, as well as next week. Glorious.

I'd say so.

We all know about Phoenix. But the 5-day forecast for Plano: highs are supposed to be 99-99-100-99-103. And that 99 on the 4th is going to be the last day with highs in the double digits for the duration. Lows between 78-80 every night. Tonight is the coolest at 76.

I work tomorrow and then I'm off until 7/11. How convenient.
