Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #182: Snow!

3) this was the one game he had that we went to so we could get him the car and right to the urgent care.

So it's your fault then! He was trying to impress the parental units.

Best of luck with the healing process. Speaking of which, he's lucky you were there. When I broke my right ankle during baseball practice my father was there, but he thought I was exaggerating what happened because it was still straight, made me walk on it back to the car, had me put it in a cool tub of water when I got home, and didn't take me to a doctor until my mom made him when she got home from whatever she was doing. So there were a few agonizing hours wasted before I actually saw a doctor. My mom was less than pleased with him.

Would have been fine if he had remembered to rub some dirt on it.

Yeah, no. He has told us often how lazy he plays in this league and he was doing so up till the slip. This league is so bad that he is dominant in it, even while playing lazy. He had a goal already in this game and had 6 the week before when he was told to just stay on the bench for the rest of the game. Most of these kids quit playing competitive hockey back in peewees, they are bad skaters and stick handlers, can't catch a pass with any pace on it. It makes a JGB player, like he should be, into a superstar.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #182: Snow!

I thought that when I retired I could completely avoid having to drive in the snow -- but no, I had to go to the doctor this morning in this mess. The afternoon and evening sound worse when it warms up a bit but the ground is still cold, and a coating of ice is expected.

Good Morning Lodge.

So Jr broke his fibula last night playing in his low-key, non-checking, recreational hockey league. He lost an edge and slid into the boards with his right foot at an awkward angle. Non-displaced, spiral crack low, so more of a broken ankle than broken leg. Still means a month in a cast and another in a boot, and Mrs and I being chauffeurs for a couple months (his right leg, of course so he can't drive). So glad that 1) Twin City Orthopedics, who did may ankle, has urgent care walk-in from 8-8 and 2) it was an early enough game that we got him there in time and 3) this was the one game he had that we went to so we could get him the car and right to the urgent care.

Ouch. Here's hoping for a quick recovery.

My worst injury was two separated shoulders and two broken collarbones. Went into the corner head first full speed about waist high off the ice. Got tripped. That hurt. I was batman for a bit as well. ;)

Getting ready to take the boys fishing. We will be grilling lunch and dinner on the lake. Brats for lunch and burgers for dinner.

Any cake? ;)

gmann does pop tarts, I'm the cake eater!

I know all us Minnesotans look alike to east coasters, but still....

Speaking of cake eaters, will Edina make it to state? I see they're a 3 seed in the section, kind of an unusual spot for them.

Afternoon all. How many of you will be in Tampa Bay regardless of who plays?

Ow. that is a bummer!

I thought you had a designated driver

I doubt it, they are really down this year. The loss of the three guys playing juniors and NTDP who would be seniors are a big hit to this team. Nice 2 seed for your guys, good luck in Sections! Although I'd like it if you got upset by the Bulldogs of LHSPCTYTEGDPDNLS... who my cousin's grandson plays for.:p;)

I'll be in Tampa with my old man.

Actually at the rink now. Spending far too much money for those cushy club seats that are all inclusive for the lightning next season.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #182: Snow!

So, review was OK. I just...I don't know. Whatever. It's done.

My folks are in Florida, my brother is there with them. While on a conference call this afternoon, my mom calls me. Naturally I can't answer so I text my brother to tell her I'm on a call and can't talk. About an hour later I call her cell and get her voicemail. I don't know if she actually knows how to access her voicemail so I text my brother again. He texts back that she's doing laundry. She's on vacation!! Why is she doing laundry?? I get home, I call again and leave another voicemail. And again, because I don't know if she can access it, I text my brother again to tell her to call me since I'm home. He replies he's out with my cousin and can't. I need their flight info since I'm picking them up on Wednesday. I had to text my aunt as I assume they're all together and tell her to tell my mom to call. It should not be this difficult.......I asked why she was doing laundry..."I don't want to bring home dirty clothes!" OK mom.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #182: Snow!

Evening, Lodge.

Hope goldy Jr heals well. That stinks.

At least your review wasn't bad, Scarlet.

I won't be in Tampa, because I have no desire to be in Florida at any time. Been there twice, don't want to go back.

Have a good streak going at work: have only been to the main building once since Christmas...maybe twice. This is the way it should work. So, compared to the past? This is GOLDEN. Sure, I miss out on some OT pay, but it's worth it getting home and/or having time to run errands during the week.

Booked my flight today! Can't go down till Thursday though. And I have to head out early Sunday morning for a conference. Was able to use JetBlue points to pay for my flight. All this business travel is good for something!
