You know what I like best about an arctic cold snap that we just had? When it warms up to 10 degrees (like it is now). T shirt weather !!!!!!!!!!

We had a department lunch today at Hell's Kitchen. This was supposed to take place a week before Christmas, but they had closed down the restaurant on us without notification even though we had a reservation, so they comp'd us our meals today and gave us all 3oz jars of their in-restaurant made peanut butter. It looks all natural, but I haven't tasted it yet. One of the guys in my department ordered the Peanut Butter Burger on the menu and said it was good, so here's hoping.

Also, the project manager who heads up the meeting I just finished, he needs a fast forward button on his phone. For crying out loud, spit it out, man!

Prepping for the last Christmas of the season. 2 Swedish coffee rings and 2 loaves of Swedish coffee bread done. Presents wrapped. Now to tag 'em and put them under the tree. Then more baking and prepping. Crockpot is burbling with beef stew.

Great day for baking. The temp hasn't moved from the AM reading of low 20s and the wind is howling.

No, I'm not playing this year. My team pretty much disbanded a few years ago. They changed the format for the Rink Rat division from all three round robin games being played on Sunday to playing one game on Saturday and then two on Sunday. We did that for one year, didn't like fighting the Saturday crowds, and so stopped playing after that.

Evening, Lodge. Working tonight. Didn't work last night, but worked Monday night, so I figured that I would stay on night schedule last night. Worked great - I got up at 1600 and I went to the movies, then read, cleaned, and relaxed. Went to bed at 0600 this morning, but couldn't fall asleep. Finally fell asleep at 12pm today and woke up at 1530. Now I'm working until 0730. Thank goodness I'm off Thursday night - Monday day (working Monday overnight).

Ugh. I don't miss that at all.

Was a baking maniac today. Now going to decompress and read a book.

Definitely didn't help that I picked up my book at 0600 to read for an hour and the next thing I knew it was 0900. I could have read all day - I'm loving Outlander

Every time a new book comes out it is around my birthday. mr les gives it to me and says, 'see you in a few days.' :p

I'm about 70% through the first book. I was going to buy the 2nd one for my kindle, but it's 10$ on Kindle, $6.39 for trade paperback. I looked on overdrive for my local library - there are 8 copies with 6 people waiting for each copy. We shall see how long it takes before break down and buy book 2 for my kindle.

I may have an extra copy of #2 Dragonfly in Amber. Let me check.

Add- Only one, very well loved copy with the back and front cover missing. I swear I had a hard copy of it. I must have lent it out and it didn't return.

Less than 15 minutes until I win the Powerball. :D

It's gonna be difficult to head to work tomorrow under those conditions. Gotta act normal while I contact a financial advisor, lawyer, and private security firm. ;)
