Happy Birthday FadeToBlack&Gold!!

39 days....

Good morning everyone!

Feeling a bit more human today. Spent the day on the couch feeling lousy yesterday. We have the first storm of the century of the week coming in tomorrow. Snow and ice. Ick.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

Good morning! For those of you wondering there are plenty of good parking spots this morning here at your worldwide leader for tacky & abrasive material.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman's best work :D

I first saw this and started to ask, "But what about (x)?" Then I realized, everything I thought of, he did well, despite how crappy the movie was. MAYBE "Scent Of A Woman" might qualify, but that's really stretching it.

Funny you should say that, one of my nephews said almost the exact same things. It was almost like he was the only one in on the joke......
My son and I decided PSH did his best work in The Big Lebowski. :)

Good morning Lodge. Making corn muffins for breakfast this morning. I'm off all week, but have some errands to run today before the crap weather tomorrow. My brother is coin to stay with me starting tomorrow so I need to pick up around here. I have some movies to watch, laundry to do, etc. trying not to check my work email more than a couple of times today.

I forgot to set my alarm last night. I woke up about 10 minutes after I should've already left the house. Had a rushed shower, ran out the door and made it into the office only 15 minutes late. I'm very thankful for the light traffic this morning. Now here's to hoping that the snowfall holds off until 6:00PM as the weather guessers promised last night.

And no ticket!
As an FYI, as get to be an old fart I need my alarm less and less. It's to the point where 80% of the time I wake up ~5-10 minutes before the dam thing even goes off.

I played it safe and drove with traffic for most of the route. The only time that changed was when I had a long view of the highway, like traveling down the hill into the MN River Valley. The only obstacle there was a trio of cars placed side by side, they all seemed to be pacing one another.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

I was putting away groceries and my elbow knocked over this small bottle of marinade my boss had given me after a trip somewhere (Rio?). I was never going to use it and probably should have tossed it long ago so no great loss, but it smashed on the floor and went everywhere and now my kitchen smells like it, as do my hands. Yuck.

So we have this contractor on my team and she is now more or less my responsibility. My boss, though signs off on her time sheet. She tends to disappear or come in late, especially when she knows I'm not there (or my boss). I've had our department admin keeping tabs on her. Just got an email that she left around 10am, no coat, no word as to where she went. She actually is a really good worker but I really am getting annoyed at this disappearing act.

It's a cah pahk in Bahston. :D

I remember because one of the first times I met Scarlet was the at 2002 frozen four. She came into McGovern's and was apologizing for being late as "she couldn't find a place to pahk the cah. Who knew a pahking gahrage was a cah pahk?"

Incorrect. I didn't know that ramps were considered garages. Because there are ramps in garages here leading up to different levels.

Ramps...that's right. It's been a while, I was a few beers into the afternoon, and I was nervous as hell about the MN game that night. :)

Good afternoon Lodge.

Fishing was good this morning. Walleye for dinner tonight.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

Are you on Red again?

BTW Mrs hit home run with Christmas gift this year. She got a guided fishing trip for Jr and I. Likely the weekend after opener.

You two out of the house? Mrs. goldy is the big winner!
Do you start the new job this week?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

HHT.

*work table. My SASS is screwed up. again. Really. Had. Enough.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

It's just for one day, nbd.

I go to the new job on 30th to start the clock on bennies and back to the old job on 31st to qualify for a 401k contribution.

No wonder you live in Cakeland!

Got clearance to leave from my building on NYE for an event I bought tickets for, thankfully. I didn't expect it to be a prob, but I didn't know, since both my backups are gone that day, and it could miraculously be busy. Good to have that assurance no matter what.

Snowing a little here, the heavy stuff will probably hit overnight. Kind of a dusting so far....
