Are you on Red again?

BTW Mrs hit home run with Christmas gift this year. She got a guided fishing trip for Jr and I. Likely the weekend after opener.

Nope. We are just north of Bemidji and the fishing has been very good so no need to fish anywhere else.

We made a typical "shore lunch" for dinner tonight (fish caught this morning) with home made tarter sauce. Very tasty.

The plan is to catch enough walleye to have a fish fry for New Year's Eve.

Regarding your gift of guide service. What lake or area?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

I'm pretty sure my upstairs neighbors out and out lied to me today. Saturday night I heard a lot of bumping, dropping of things and footsteps. I got home at 10pm, waited till 11:30, went up there to listen and definitely heard movement in there. When I got home I saw that their lights were on. I didn't knock as I was in my pajamas and, well, it was late so I didn't feel comfortable knocking at that time. They have a two little kids - one is an infant, the other is almost two. I hear her running around. I can live with that.

I was exhausted Sunday. I had banged on my ceiling several times with a broom to no avail. Spent all day stressing about how I think I need to move. I cannot deal with getting no sleep. Anyway....I decided to go up there today as I was hoping the husband was not home and I've met the wife. She was so nice when she came down to apologize after the condo association sent them an email. I actually brought a gift with me. Of course the husband was home. He works for John Hancock - and in the building across the street from me. We talked about commuting, about snow, how to park in the T garage when it snows, etc. So, I said to them "I don't want to be THAT neighbor but it was really loud on Saturday night." They were like "we weren't home - we got home about 1am." Hmmmmm. I said - I didn't think the kids would be up that late. Right? What 2-year old is up and running around at 11:30pm?? Now I'm thinking - where is that noise coming from???

So here I sit tonight. It's 11:42. Lots of footsteps. Thumping, dropping of things, etc. I went up to listen outside their door - the little kid is awake. It is her running around. Moving of furniture, etc. I now do not believe them that they were not there Saturday night. I know I saw their lights on when I got home that night. It's really disappointing as they both really seem so nice. Not sure what I need to do now.

Burn it down.

Send an anon letter to association. Best you can do, if you want to remain SOMEWHAT anon.

You live in association that has rules and more than likely you pay a fee or something like that and if it were me I would exhaust all options before fighting fire with fire.

Heck even in non-association, there are rules. I did get one warning letter a lonnnnng time ago about noise (it was when I used to host folks for the Final Five). I addressed it, and all was cool. I know who sent the letter by process of elimination, but meh, no ill will towards them. I was in the wrong.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

You people call this a blizzard!?!?

Lol.

The waitress at our restaurant explained that there was no catch of the day as the seafood did not arrive due to the weather.

I said, and I quote... "Aren't we in ****ing Minnesota? Is this weather an issue?"

Apparently the weather was in fact an issue but fortunately the wood oven pizza was outstanding, so all was good and we had a great dinner and after party in the hotel in lovely Rochester, MN.

Oh how I love my boy's hockey and dang am I gonna miss it in 1.5 years when it's done.

I think the issue has been that the direction from which this storm arrived, since it pretty much started down south to cause major flooding and severe weather, turning into snow somewhere in Iowa.

Good Morning Lodge.

Gurt, I wondered if you were back for that tourney again. Good luck.

Gmann, this guide is on Tonka as and Independence lakes. He scout fishes by himself on the opener and will decide where we'll go based on those results.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

Thanks.

Team not off to a good start with a bad loss yesterday, but the parents are in top tournament form.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

Good morning Lodge.

We caught some more walleye for New Year's Eve dinner.

One of life's simples pleasures........standing outside the fish house as the sun breaks the horizon while breathing in fresh winter air.

Right now hanging out at the by/tie/sushi bar. Wavering between the HHT and the *HT for later reservations.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

Good to read that people's holidays went fairly well. (I'm sorry to read about the seizure, gmann; that must be incredibly difficult :( )

Twister is a hotly contested movie in our household as I love it for it's ridiculousness (I, too, enjoy PSH in it immensely) and tcbg hates it due to his intense dislike of Bill Paxton (only movie he will tolerate Paxton in is Tombstone ... because he dies).

Best of luck, goldy with the new gig. Good luck, JF with the interview process.
