Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

Happy New Years Eve Day Lodge peeps! I need coffee. My brother wants to go out to breakfast today but he's still asleep. I need to go wake him up. Heading to a friend's house tonight for some low key festivities. It's a nice day today and should be a pleasant night as well. One less thing to worry about! Hope you all have a fun, festive and safe night! Happy New Year to you all!!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

There is some random fact about Bill Paxton being in a ridiculous amount of the highest grossing movies of all time. Like, more than any other "big name" actor.

Evening, folks. Work is way too slow for this time of year (quarter end, year end). Not complaining. It's rather odd, though.

Edit:

As an Actor in movies:
Supporting: 18

Domestic Box Office
$1,879,465,133

International Box Office
$2,764,669,816

Worldwide Box Office
$4,644,134,949

mookie got 'twister' and 'true lies'. (some overlap with our recently talked about seymour friend there :p)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

Good morning Lodge.

Scrambled eggs with all sorts of goodies mixed in (sausage, bacon, onion, green pepper and wild rice), English muffin toast and fresh fruit have been served for breakfast.

Happy New Year's Eve to all the Lodge.

Round III of Xmas for us. First though we will make some Xmas cookies then a fairly low key gift exchange.

Tonight we will be cooking up a prime rib and walleye for dinner.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

Good Morning Lodge. Last day at my old employer. Talked about my new project at the new company with my boss at the old company - it used to be his project (he did a master plan for it back in 08 and it has now been funded for construction). Everyone involved loves the irony. Also, he and I have the same first name, at least they didn't give me his old work station.

gmann, what time should we get there for dinner?;)

Good Afternoon, Lodge!

Current boss's last day. Sad as I am the only one in the office. Bottom of totem pole, get to work. It is D-E-D dead here today.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

First world problems: Based on some planning my wife and I have been doing I think almost all my vacation and personal days will be accounted for in 2016

- Feb: A week at my parent's place in Palm Desert, CA
- Mar - 2-3 days for hockey tourney and St. Paddy's Day
- Jul - Week at friends cabin near Knoxville (tentative)
- Sometime in Q4 - probably December, two weeks in Europe - Daughter is studying abroad, most likely in the Holy Land (Ireland ;) ). So a week at least in Ireland then a week somewhere in the continent. Not sure where yet, either Luxembourg than down the French coast to Mt. St. Michelle or Belgium and Luxembourg. Or maybe we just go to Italy for a week. It's a not lose situation.... :D

That only leaves a week or so to spare. Sigh. :D :D

Go St. Cloud! :D

I am so smart! SMRT!

Was dead at mining this week, too. Glad I was able to take off today.

It's been stupid slow here in fix-it land until I got into the office this morning. A process failed to complete prior to 6:00AM and kicked off an email. By the time I was in the office at 8:30 they'd bee working the issue since 7:00AM. It wasn't until I went to talk with the group impacted, and they looked at me with blank stares that I decided to do a little investigating myself, found that the process completed at 6:03AM and that nobody bothered to verify the issue before kicking the hornet's nest and getting a slew of other people involved.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

Last two days of work for me have been busy taking care of faux emergencies.

I guess my interview didn't eliminate me from job contention as they sent me a few follow up questions in email.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

Afternoon, Lodge. It's beyond dead here. I'm cheating by posting here during work, but *shrug*. I've had 1 order in the past hour...

Heading to church after work to sample a $200 beer (12 person limit; get 2oz each and a pint of regular beer for $15), then probably over to my brother's to hang out.

Happy New Year!!!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

I took a quick stroll around the floor just now. I'm obligated to be here until 5:00, so another 20 minutes, and I'm one of only about a dozen people here. Very quiet.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

Evening/morning, Lodgers.
Not feeling it at work tonight - would rather be home, cuddled up and either sleeping or reading. Think I just need some decompression time following the holiday season. We're due to go to Boston on Saturday with my good friend and her husband and kid - visiting the Aquarium (9am to avoid the crowds) and then Asian food to be agreed upon later (she suggested Korean, I'm hoping for Thai). Sunday though - pile day. I'm not moving!

Ugh. Feel for you Hospital never has down time.

35 days left and not a moment too soon. The place is swirling the bowl. Someone needs to teach these people how to manage in a way that is not completely offensive, insulting and least likely to be constructive

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

I was at the office until 3 PM. Home now with a mild headache, with football on TV.

Three days off.....and then the annual Four Month Monkey Circus begins.

After I posted this, I took a peek on one of my patients. He motioned for the bedpan and when I rolled him over, there was a literal river of $hit under him. The rest of the shift was not slow. The other patient (CMO) got his bath and when I rolled him to the side, about 200cc of bile gel/mucus flowed out of his mouth onto my clean sheet (day shift was nice enough to remove the OG tube that was in for suction because it was upsetting the family ) .

Hoping for a better night tonight. CMO died peacefully this afternoon, so I have another patient (sedated) and poop man (who now has a pouch collecting that $hit). Hoping to catch the ball drop at midnight (have always watched it - though we TiVo-ed it last year as I had to work until 2300 and got home at 0015).

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

Channel surfing, ended up on a showing of the New York Philharmonic performance on PBS. That orchestra would be mookie's little slice of paradise. I'm thinking a Dragon Mother or two might have been involved in that.
