Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #180: Holiday Onslaught

Same here. 94 eastbound out of St. Paul toward downtown Maplewood is the Autobahn in the mornings. It's a lovely thing as I see westbound traffic stopped at least into Woodbury. :) I am still amazed in the 15+ years I've been doing this drive in the morning I still have not been pinched.

You drive a minivan. Like they are going to stop a minivan in the morning, unless you are doing something really stupid. :) There has been some fundraisers on 35E and 494, but they don't bother you. 35E is slowly moving and troopers are focused on westbound 494. Hwy 61 in Cottage Grove, they like to hide. Especially on a former on-ramp. Set the cruise to 72 and good to go.

I drive an Acura. :)
We have a mini-van but I drive the fun car.

The new Eric Church album is essentially a big **** You to modern country that is overproduced and just ****. Very underproduced, lots of acoustics, no computer ****. Love it. I believe, because this album came out as a surprise, unplanned album, and because the sound is so different from his last CD, that these are simply songs that didn't make the cut for The Outsiders. He had something like 70 extra songs that didn't make the cut. Don't think there are any huge hits here, but I don't think there are supposed to be. It is a fanboy album, more focused on the art of it than catering to the **** storm of modern "country".

I read somewhere that the most recent Avril Lavigne album registers louder than most death metal albums due to the producers cranking up the dB gain and brickwalling the waveform.

Good to hear artists are starting to push back on overproduction.

Yeah. It is not just one genre or another. It is the entire music industry. It is harder and harder to find real artists that actually put out decent, real music, and I think that is for whatever genre you enjoy.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #180: Holiday Onslaught

So I have been blocked by a twitter feed. My son's school's girls' soccer twitter feed. I went to the feed this AM cause they are in the State title game this morning. I guess they were a little sensitive that I busted them on their grammar after a previous game (they used you're when they meant your) and I said, "act like you are a college prep school.":D

I started following 'cause I know a couple girls on the team and they are doing so well.

Or not so well.... :p
They won State this morning 4-2.

He's going to find out the hard way come parent- teacher conferences that he's been banned from campus for stalking behaviors exhibited.
Nah, the Principal hasn't blocked me, just the kids who didn't like my correcting their grammar. Besides, I'll be on campus Saturday night for the big fundraiser, they want more of my money.

Following a twitter feed is not much of a stalking, I only got to one of their games this year. A stalker would have been at games and practices, with a telephoto.
