A lot of the people who caused this place to be so busy some 10 years ago have become busier over the years. And with the various other social media coming into play, legacy forums like this will continue to see their traffic decline. The only reason I'm on tonight is an application install - a lot of hurry up and wait for me tonight.

Been a tough week on the body - dancing for hours at the wedding over the weekend and rolling some large pts at work. Looking forward to the hot tub tomorrow - question is: do I go in before my nap or after I go out to lunch with a friend (aka after nap)? Right trap is bothering me something fierce. Think that I might actually start doing some weight training to help with stresses of lugging these pts (has never really been a problem before).
The hot tub will naturally relax you, and if you want to nap, that will help with the cause. Use that info as you see fit.
My real fear is a doze in the hottub

It's the one that belongs to our complex. It's pretty warm, I'm not toooooo worried, it's just a back of my mind concern as I relax.Keep it hot enough, won't happen. Back in my hot-tubbin' days, it was 105-106 or so. Yeah, toasty.
I think I'll print this out and put it in my car. I'm not great at exercising and my weight, of late, is headed in the wrong direction after maintaining the same weight for about 2 years. Now that I'm on the floor instead of in ED, I definitely feel the ache more than I did at my last place - we do more lifting and pushing than I ever did elsewhere. Yoga is probably not a bad idea - the hubs used to recommend it to help wind down before sleep as (until this job) I have been a terrible sleeper. Of course, I didn't listen, but maybe I'll take it under advisement. I was thinking to myself that I would need to do some strenght training today, even before coming in as I'm just sore - not hurt, just achy. I'm wearing compression sleeves to help fight the leg swell (especially now that I work nights).Nurses, especially floor nurses are probably some of the most beat up athletes out there. They forget to take care of themselves nursing is very taxing on the body, both physically and mentally. On your feet all day, lifting patients, being asked to do 14 different things at once, and lets not forget that wonderful stresser of somebody trying to shuffle lose from the mortal coil. Necks, shoulders, lower backs, and legs are all issues for nursing if they don't take care of themselves. I would suggest you think about doing some yoga as well to whatever exercise program you elect to do. Helps keep you flexible, makes you stay in tune with your body, and probably the biggest thing for you is just that time to allow your brain the chance to relax.
Morning, Mark! A little early today, aren't you?Good morning to tLodge!
Early to bed, early to rise... don't believe the hype!A little early today, aren't you?

S'upp y'all
Last time Mookie set foot in a hot tub he spent a follow up week in mass general with a staph infection
I do what I do after I blew out my subscapularis, rhomboids and traps lifting someone (Correct technique, with help). If you ache at rest- ICE!! heat will extend the injury. If you use heat, ice afterwardBeen a tough week on the body - dancing for hours at the wedding over the weekend and rolling some large pts at work.
