Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #179: Crisp Autumn Weather, Football, and Hockey

Good Morning, Lodge!

I feel about the same as yesterday. Don't want to push myself.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #179: Crisp Autumn Weather, Football, and Hockey

Good morning Lodge. Catching up on some dvr'd shows this morning and getting ready to head out soon for the Terrier exhibition game this afternoon. Yay hockey! The guys upstairs woke me up at 4:19 this morning. I actually went up there and almost knocked. Then I was thinking of going up there at 7:30 and loudly banging on their door and running. And maybe leaving a note that says "how do you like being woken up??"

X-rays for pup came back with good news. The HOD that was very evident in the initial X-rays back in June are pretty much gone. He/we got lucky and he dodged a bullet. Literally and figuratively.

Those desserts sound fabulous.

For those of you keeping score from home.........Reese's peanut butter cups are where it's at.

Yesterday I booked a trip for March. Our first family vacation that involves air travel. Orlando and then Fort Meyers. Not sure what we will do in Orlando. Mrs. g and I are not super hyped for Disney. Probably hit the usual stuff. Fort Meyers will be to watch a twins game.

I think the flower show is at Epcot in March, its pretty amazing

It wasn't THAT bad, paved roads the whole way, it's just a hike from my place. Oak Grove (sorta near Nowthen and St Francis). At one point, I wasn't sure I was going the right way, but I knew I had to keep going north. Figured, as long as the sun was on my left, I was okay. :o

Its only like 5 miles north of me.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #179: Crisp Autumn Weather, Football, and Hockey

No on the medical pass. Disney (and other theme parks) changed their policy. apparently wealthy families would find a "disabled" person and take them on their family vacation. Their only intent was to bring this person so their family didn't have to wait in lines. In some cases people were faking it. They got their doc to get them the paperwork and boom! No lines.

It sucks because it really limits what we can and can't do.

Wow. that does stink. I know I was asked some time ago to write one of those letters and blasted the person.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #179: Crisp Autumn Weather, Football, and Hockey

Well, I was excited for hockey. :(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #179: Crisp Autumn Weather, Football, and Hockey

So he did need a passport. :)

Worst part of Disney? FAT FAT FAT people in scooters. You aren't disabled, you slob, you're obese.

No it is the parents who rent baby carriages to push kids around who are taller than me (5'2), elementary school age, completely capable of walking (and running, usually when they get their lazy a55 out of carriage when it stops). Seriously. Just you wait and see.

as to the large people- If they are that morbidly obese it is entirely possible they are incapable of walking for any distance, have COPD, cardiac stuff etc.

mookie's fourball partner was down there 2 weeks ago and commented on the # of scooters. god of course then gave him pneumonia when he got home (so be careful ;) )

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #179: Crisp Autumn Weather, Football, and Hockey

I don't recall seeing any fatty scooters at Tokyo Disney. So must be a US thing.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #179: Crisp Autumn Weather, Football, and Hockey

Been a while so I actually forgot...HHT! Yeah, it was an exhibition. But it was fun to be back at Agganis and see some hockey. The game was at 4pm, which was weird. I've actually been home for a couple of hours.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #179: Crisp Autumn Weather, Football, and Hockey

I think I will be seeing a lot of the *HT this year.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #179: Crisp Autumn Weather, Football, and Hockey

What a shocker, I'm back at the *HT. Good, the groove in my seat's still there.

Of course. Over there cake isn't its own food group, and they don't think that gravy is an energy drink.

Ranch. All about the ranch dressing. And a diet Coke of course. Gotta watch the waistline.

Or those that say that they drink diet pop so that they can eat regular cake.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #179: Crisp Autumn Weather, Football, and Hockey

I'm a bad Minnesotan. Ranch dressing is disgusting. Barf. Yuck.
