Yeah, DTCC is changing from proprietary NDM to ISO 20022 MQ for CA and PI XFERS. Meanwhile the FRB is changing from proprietary PITA MQ to an UV MQ by 2018, all the while updating both its SAN & LAN setups in preparation for 2018, completely making its SNAFU UAT system all the worse.

I don't know what you wrote, you don't know what I wrote. :p
We're switching all of our stuff over to being hosted on a Citrix server today. We've had 2 programs (ACARS and DECS) on it for the last 6 months and it could barely handle those. I'm tempted to log in to my work email to see how it went this morning.

EDIT: The FAA must use Citrix too. :D

I understand the need for Citrix, but it makes everything so much slower. I was first introduced to it some 13 years ago and it was absolutely horrible. We use it today for a group in India that works with us in Minneapolis and while it's notably slower, it's not quite the bottleneck that it used to be.

Yep, and slower is not good in my profession...

Everything was running perfectly fine, until IT decided to fix what wasn't broken.

Just had the governor of Wisconsin stop by work, got a nice stare down by his state patrol body guard as I was going to grab stuff off the printer

If you weren't so dammed shifty looking he would've just let you pass without incident.

Wow, the directories for Jr's school that LwB was working on earlier this week were given to the kids today! I guess her outfit is quick at least

They were delivered to the school yesterday. I only worked on a fraction of them. The other print shop printed them. We only did the binding. Enjoy!

Good Afternoon, Lodge! I have been home sick for the past 2 days. Left early on Tuesday. Stayed home all day yesterday. Went into work this afternoon as it got really busy and the least I could do was to clean up my workload. I am tired, but resting yesterday helped a lot. Hopefully, I can work a full day tomorrow. My co-workers know I am going half the pace as normal, but still better than nothing.

Yo. Work sucks this week. DHBoss is living up to his name. Take Textbook Mgmt 101 and add a lot of micro-managing, and there you go. Ugh.

Double-dipping OC this weekend. Twins game on Sat, NFL on Sunday. I need to burn a couple free-food coupons.

If Zillow is to be believed, my home is worth about 20% more now than what I paid for it. NaSK and I have discussed that when the time is right for a bigger home, we'll look into costs/income associated with keeping this one and renting it out.

Zillow may or may not be correct, but just like in many other areas of life, the Internet should never be your sole source. Comps are a bit tricky, because there is rarely such a thing as a perfect comp. There are other factors too.

We're switching all of our stuff over to being hosted on a Citrix server today.

I'm very sorry to hear that.

Thinking about booking a room for Mrs and I up on the North Shore of Superior for next weekend to look at leaves and stuff...
what hp1015 said and the following posts after that had me giggling.

CItrix stinks/ and you are right I have no idea what you posted but I was amused.

Are you sure DHB is not a woman that travels interstate?

Good Morning, MEUSA! :)

Good Morning to the rest of tLodge! :)

I am going to NYC this morning.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #179: Crisp Autumn Weather, Football, and Hockey

It would appear that a dislike of Citrix is common. Happy I'm not the only one.

Checking in before mandatory ed class. 2nd to last one, thank goodness. I work 3 12s for a reason...this whole work 3 nights and then 1 day is for the birds.

On the plus side, got to catch up with a good friend yesterday and cuddle with her son as we both snoozed on the couch (he's 6 months). Visiting my best friend tomorrow and then cooking/baking for the hub's birthday.

Gettin out of town ahead of Joaquin, eh? Smart man. If you don't, at least make sure you look outside before opening the door.
