Yom Kippur and the Pope is in town. Do you think that they are connected? ;)

We have a patient who has been in our unit for over 4 weeks. He now has a trach and, since he's no longer sedated, he has quite a sense of humor. Tonight, the traveler in our department is a little overwhelmed and snippy with the staff. The patient noticed and has been popping the ventilator off his trach intermittently for the last hour. She just yelled at him "you're going to die if you keep doing that". He laughed and pointed to a few of us and wagged his finger at her. We're all going to hell (and so are the patients...).

Good Morning Lodge.

So today is gmann's Friday? Does he ever have a Monday? Does he or GE ever work? It seems gmann is always off camping or going to the cities for a ball game or some such.

On a related note, we met with our financial adviser last night. I'm closer to a decent retirement than I thought - maybe in 3 years if I so choose. Thought it would be 10.

He's funny, but way too many people think he's the Second Coming of Comedy. I'd put him on the 2nd tier of greatness for now. And for those asking, I'd say Pryor, Kinison, Carson, Cosby (despite his downfall), and Hicks are the first tier, among some others. Steven Wright, Dmitri Martin, Louie Anderson, Louis CK, those folks are on the second tier, as much as I love them.

Carlin on the first tier, too.
Agree but it was gold watching Trump try to be careful what he said and then watching Colbert not being careful. Teehee. Every time Trump tried to do the canned speech about something Colbert countered with something funnny. I hope he does every politician.

Don't forget Carol Burnett and crew.

Currently at Caribou with little g enjoying a beverage and a chocolate chip cookie.

Later today I will be heading up north to go camping with the guys for 4 nights and should be a great time.

Great news on the financial planning. If things go as planned I should be able to call it good around age 62 or so............

Had I not had a brainstorm in about '85 and opened my own windsurfing shop, I could probably retire now.:o

Between losing my first several years of 401K savings on the business and having about 3 years of not making any money to add to the pot, it's made a huge difference now. Losing 30 years of interest/growth on that nest egg is a bfd. Although, even with that I'm sunned when I look at our net worth.

That is why you should wear sun screen. :D

Good morning Lodge. Getting ready to head to LAX. My flight is is four hours, but traffic here is a nightmare plus I want to stop for a quick bagel. Pretty decent trip overall! For those who didn't see on Facebook, I was at my brother's show yesterday. They were doing a run through of this week's episode. One of the guest stars was Jamie Farr, aka Corp. Klinger from MASH! What a cool old guy. Turns out he has relatives in Worcester.

S tier:

Marx
Carson
Williams
Cosby (rescinded)

A tier:

Chappelle
Letterman
