Ah, ok. I HAVE heard good things about the Hofbrau House, just never have been.

I vaguely remember going there before the 2006 National Championship game with a bunch of people I didn't know, of which 4 or 5 ended up being lodgers and one was in my wedding. Funny how things work.

Edit: i also vaguely remember going to the one in Cincinnati...i woke up in a parking lot after that night. That was rough.

I didn't know you were at the Milwaukee get together. I was there. Got fairly drunk drinking the Dunkel, sobered up sometime in the 3rd period. I also had to pick up MEg the Midget so the guy taking orders at the counter could see her.

Jr started the fall trap season last night and shot his first ever 25 of 25 targets so he gets a patch for his shooting vest for that. He's had a couple 24s before but this is his first 25. My boss at the former employer has been shooting in leagues for many years and has never hit a 25.

Congrats to jr.

Good morning Lodge.

I guess I could have said my usual greetings instead of yawning. :)

Good Morning Lodge.

Speaking of the 2006 NCAA in Milwaukee...one of the kids who skated with us in the public open skate at the Bradley Center was on the NHL Network last night in the All American Prospects Game. Number 11 in blue. He did not have a good game last night - not bad, but not good either.

Jr is bowling for a jv team tonight in competition and we may go watch him. I'm torn on this cause he is a terrible bowler. They let anyone bowl for the jv teams and he and some of his buddies are doing it and they are just bad. Now if they used their shotguns those pins wouldn't stand a chance.:D

I was there. I knew about 2 people, because I had just started posting regularly a couple months earlier, I think.

Apparently my dad is taking a private jet to South Bend in October to watch the Notre Dame - Navy game in a suite. I have to combine that day. He's not even a Notre Dame fan!

The Gods Of Rush Hour were kind to me today. After lunch in the general SW metro (still somewhat inner core), traveled to the north/northeast metro (outer core) and back. Friday afternoon, major highway/interstate (694/35W), and back. Around 3pm. Zero gridlock.

Got my growler and howler, had a good beer while at the taproom, and talked to some old dude at the taproom who apparently served for the Dublin fire department many years ago. 'Twas a good day.

3 day weekend, I have some things I have to do, and other things I want to do. Hopefully everything comes up Milhouse. And of course, OC on Sunday. Can't miss church. ;)
Three day weekend also and it is still over a 100 here. 2 day work week next week. Life is good.

Good Morning Lodge.

Ho boy, Jr's bowling team is even worse than I thought. Very geeky group and can't bowl for crap. Odd format, team of five and each bowls 2 frames per game, bowl every 5 frames. True team but if one bowler gets hot it doesn't do much good. Jr's small school had a varsity and a jv team, one school even smaller had a full varsity team (this school has like 60 students total), meanwhile two giant schools - Edina and Eden Prairie (like 2700 and 3000 students), had to combine to form just a varsity team. I guess it is very uncool to bowl at Edina and EP.

Have you looked into city leagues/etc? I was never a great bowler (around 160 avg) but I found it to be quite fun.

I recall us talking about Gasthofs a few pages back. Word came out today that it has been sold to the owners of the Bulldog locations about three weeks ago. Oktoberfest is the last hurrah.
