Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #179: Crisp Autumn Weather, Football, and Hockey

PS - some of the Ferris Football fans are barking moonbats and are totally clueless as to how College Hockey works. Been dealing with a few of them thanks to Saturday night who still think that Michigan and Sparty are still going to Big Rapids every year.
To be fair, Michigan did travel to Ferris last year, and Ferris is playing at Yost this year. I don't know (or care) about Sparty.

I've watched zero plays of pro football this season. I hope I can maintain that streak.

I should have done that. Especially when I heard that Suggs was hurt in the first game. Instead, I watched my Ravens choke on Sunday.

I would rather root for the total annihilation of mankind then root for a team that Lemieux or Crosby is involved with.

Raleigh, NC

What is with Raleigh?! I found out that my sorta co-worker (he works a 6am-2:30pm shift) is seeing a nice young lady, and she grew up in Raleigh, and they scouted out the area a couple weeks ago, and might make the move. That'd be a big move for him, as he's been at the company for as long as I have (about 15 years).

People like Raleigh because it's warm, has a lot of job growth and is in a good area for things to do. Not to mention good housing prices.

I have my job still as of now.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #179: Crisp Autumn Weather, Football, and Hockey

A lot of tech jobs in that area. But it has to be godawful hot.

Sounds like hovens kind of weather. Isn't his apt. always set to 90?

Plus I bet they have awesome storms come thru.

When I was looking at place to move to from Annapolis/DC area, I think I looked at NC briefly. The heat drove me off.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #179: Crisp Autumn Weather, Football, and Hockey

I'll pass, thanks. Did that once by living in Annapolis for a few years.

Yeah, I will too. I have said it before, but ****, I just don't do well in temperatures above about 70 degrees. I'll take -20F over 90F all day, everyday.

I've built my entire workday plans as on the calendar of events I was reading. I was reading Wednesday's list of events. Oops.

Good evening Lodge.

Today is my Friday.

I dislike the laid-back southern living. Trained people in Greenville SC a few years back. No work ethic compared to the midwest, in any workplace (my work, restaurants, retail stores, etc). Drove me nuts. I prefer to work hard, play hard. They are all kind of meh. If that's your thing, fine. It's not my thing.

Sidenote: after training them, mgmt wanted me to go back for another week. Apparently they were sorta interviewing me for a mgmt job down there. I declined to return, they sent a guy I recommended, he was hired for mgmt after his visit.

Watching Colbert while charting. Have only seen clips of him on FB, never a whole show. I think we may need to DVR him. He is hysterical. He and The Donald together- had me in stitches.

He's funny, but way too many people think he's the Second Coming of Comedy. I'd put him on the 2nd tier of greatness for now. And for those asking, I'd say Pryor, Kinison, Carson, Cosby (despite his downfall), and Hicks are the first tier, among some others. Steven Wright, Dmitri Martin, Louie Anderson, Louis CK, those folks are on the second tier, as much as I love them.

Carlin on the first tier, too.

Add Groucho Marx to tier 1.
