Good morning Lodge and greetings from the air! On my JetBlue flight to Denver and they're beta testing FREE inflight wifi. That's pretty awesome.

Good morning....guess we're putting in the dock today. Brrr.....

Great Twins game this evening. The weather was perfect and the game itself was pretty entertaining.

Before the game the boys were approached to raise the Minnesota state flag during the national anthem. Then, both boys got on the big screen dancing to a tune between innings. They were doing the sprinkler and got quite the roar from the crowd.

What a great time.

That's awesome!

Afternoon, Lodj.

Showing up in "straight tux" is code for going as a paid waiter. ;)

Ha! I have a tux because I'm a musician. And everybody knows why -- historically -- musicians wear tuxes, right? The same reason waiters do: Because we're really just the paid help.

Never saw the allure of a plain tuxedo. Too boring.

It is tricky, no doubt. I help it stay less boring (or try to, anyway) by having a shawl collar tux, and by tying an actual bow tie, and by wearing a nice white linen pocket square. And I make sure my escorts come from only the top shelf agencies. :p

It must have rained here on Friday than I realized. There is a lot of flooding all over the place, and White's Ferry was closed :( (not that that is particularly unusual).

Yard is mowed, new blinds hung, nothing came crashing down. Progress.

Pork chops to go into the oven soon.

Great story from lil-g! Glad it worked so well for him.

So Jr shot a turkey at about 7 this AM on bigblue's grandpa's farm. It was a young male, called a jake. His shotgun was pretty much stretched across my belly when he took the shot - we were laying under a fallen tree next to each other with camo screen over us and the turkey was off to my side. I grilled it tonight - or the breasts anyway. Came out a little salty though. I had some brine that I had used on some turkey parts I had smoked a little while back.

I have never had wild turkey. Taste like chicken?

Weird turn of events at yesterday's Twins game. I called the tix office Wednesday of last week and the agent and myself thought we were purchasing tix behind home plate for the 5/17 game. Got to will call yesterday and no tix waiting for us(6 people in our group). Turns out the agent inadvertently had the wrong date on his screen when we were discussing and purchasing tix and I must have missed it when he verified things. I actually purchased tix to games in July. Twins personnel were very apologetic and went out of their way to make it right. Ended up getting tix in section 137 (right field) "wheel chair" row. We had an entire part of a pavilion to ourselves. Plenty of room to roam or stand up. For those familiar with Target field we sat directly in front of and in between the Minnesota flag and the American flag. Right before the national anthem a Twins employee approached me and asked if the boys would like to crank up the Minnesota flag and then later they got on he big screen. It's funny how things end up working out for the best sometimes.......

Edit. Looking forward to the end of this week. Me and the boys will be heading up north Friday morning. We will be tenting it until Monday. Awesome camping site about 100 feet off a lake. Can't wait to set up all my new gear. I hope it's not raining and I hope it's stays a little cool at night as I want to be able to fire up the wood stove at night. ;)

Temp was a titch colder. Our end of the lake is very shallow so it's a loooooong dock.
#Shrinkage! :D
Got everything in but the lift and the boats.

Good Morning Lodge

Wild turkey (as opposed to Wild Turkey) tastes like . . . turkey. A little tougher, more "tooth" to it I guess, but not bad. Like I said, this one was little salty due to the brine I used.

Had a busy weekend. It was good, but now I'm glad that the next four days will be pretty low-stress. I just have to get some leaves raked, that should have been raked weeks ago, but the grass got too long, so I mowed them into a windrow and now I just have to pick them up.

I got all of the spring spraying done this weekend, and trained in a kid that has helped my dad in the past so he can spray if needed in the future.

Got some morel mushrooms too, going to pick up some steaks, and have steaks and morel mushrooms tonight.

Good morning Lodge.

Had a fun weekend, including going to Paint and Pour with mel and NaSK.

Started the workday by ****ing off a coworker. I told her to rescan the filters and not breath on them. I wasn't trying to be a d***, I just needed her to not exhale near the CO2 filters she was measuring the transmission of.

The girlfriend's sister's wedding is in a few weeks. I'm a little blue for her liking, so she likes to try and tick me off. (Nothing big, just giving each other crap here and there.) Well, her latest tactic was to tell me that I have to wear a tux to the wedding. Being a musician I just replied "What style? I have three." You could just see the wheels turning as she tried to come up with something witty.
