Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Howdy Lodge. Greetings from Atlanta. It is not HOTlanta, in fact it's freezing here. Staying in this cool hotel that's part of this retail area. The building is mostly residences so the hotel rooms are like little apartments. I have a full kitchen. There is a Publix supermarket in this complex so I bought some bananas, bagels, juice, water, half and half (I have a small coffee pot and a toaster, as well as a full size fridge/oven/dishwasher). The amount I spent to cover me for the three days I'm here is less than it would cost me to eat breakfast at the hotel restaurant.

Good morning Lodge. Beautiful sunny sub zero day here in Atlanta. Love my hotel room with kitchen. Made coffee, toasted a bagel, sitting here at the table watching GMA and checking email and surfing the net. Heading out to the office in a few for our employee event with Sarah Hughes, pending her flight landing on time and getting through the lovely Atlanta traffic.

I'm going to miss hockey this weekend. Again.

I totally can expense but I'm picky about breakfast. I hate spending a lot for a breakfast I don't like.

Do you want my tix for tomorrow? I can email them to you if you can use them.

I hate when they cancel school...because then we have to hear from all the "Back in my day it was absolute zero and I waited at the bus stop all night before it came! AND I TURNED OUT JUST FINE!!!!" people.

Then they shouldn't cancel school for idiotic reasons. Its not our fault that people want to pussify kids these days.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Didn't get finished up in the Bakken. There were bigger issues going on than I could deal with in the field, in one trip. I am dreading having to make another trip up there, which now seems like a distinct possibility. I got to go out for dinner and beers with a good buddy from high school and his new fiance (new as of about 3 days ago, when we went out), so that was fun. I hadn't seen him in quite a while, so it was good to catch up. My cubicle is nice, after a few days working on an engine outside in the Bakken. :p

Another customer is really ****ing me off. I'm supposed to go out to NY to do some work for them. Originally I was supposed to be there right now, and I even had a trip booked. They pushed it back, so I rescheduled to be there next Monday-Tuesday. They rescheduled again, told me to cancel that trip because they don't know when it will be, but it will probably still be sometime next week. I already told them that I'm not traveling on Thursday next week, Beau has his neuter appt, and I've already rescheduled this twice, because of this customer, and I'm not doing it again. We'll see what kind of idiotic timeline they give me now. I am guessing I'll be told on Monday afternoon that I have to be there Tuesday morning.

Hey Brent, MNS, SOH, DX, etc....

I have a groupon for a distillery tour for some place over in Wisconsin, about an hour away. 4 people, I believe it is $20 each, and that includes a credit for their store, for something like $20 worth of whiskey per person. It was a pretty good deal. I want to get 4 of us together and head over there on a Saturday. You guys interested?

SoH, send me your address, Dammit!

Of course I am interested. Thought you got the message on FB.

Got my new computer! Woohoo! Asus something or other with i5 thingamajig, 15' screen or so. It's really thin! It's more computer than I REALLY need, I think, but I like it. It does have the Windows 8, which I don't like, but probably because I am not used to it. And same with the touch screen, which I will never use.
