Happy Friday Folks!
Pro-E is the biggest pile of 5hit and taking forever to bring up cad models, the sooner I get done what Im doing, the sooner i get to go home.

Spotanteously decided to sign up this morning for Color Run in Green Bay Saturday on top of my already scheduled TC 5k next Saturday morning.

Running is awesome.

Never understood the Color Run. It came to Anchorage for the first time this summer and they got almost 40K people. Why would I want to shell out $50 to run through a Technicolor buck cake and inhale clouds of Lord knows what while I'm sucking wind, when I can do the local pub run 5K every Tuesday for free?

I'd rather do the Krispy Kreme 5K. Run to the Krispy Kreme, down a dozen doughnuts, and run back. I just forget where it's located.

Another event I've considered is the Doughman Triathlon in North Carolina. Part eating contest, part athletics... lots of fun.

Full weekend. Burying my SIL's urn tomorrow (I have no idea why bro waited this long; thought about keeping/burying it?), then NFL Sunday with a couple friends (and also Breaking Bad get-together for the series-ender), then off to Rochester on Monday morning with bro for a small...ceremony, I suppose you could cal it, for my grandpa. He's being cremated, but we're not burying the urn yet, because my cop uncle (maternal side) is in DC for some national security thing and can't make it home yet.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

if god wanted us to run, he wouldn't have invented cars.

Dante Hicks: What are you writing over there, your memoirs?

Randal Graves: I'm battling this jackass on his blog's message boards.

Dante Hicks: About what?

Randal Graves: About how he's got too much free time and no life. A guy in a wheelchair who's always preying on other people's sympathies, writing these long diatribes about how he'll never walk again, and how walkers should appreciate the blessings of their functioning legs, so I've been getting into it with him, throwing it right back in his stupid crippie-boy face about how I love to just sit around, and how I'd rather drive to the end of the block than walk!

Dante Hicks: The guy's in a wheelchair.

Randal Graves: Yeah. That's why I called him "crippie-boy."

When talking about the marathon, I tell people that I don't like to drive 26 miles, let alone run it.

Nice evening tonight. My cousin Steve and his wife are here from Florida for Parents Weekend at BC. Their son, my godson, goes there. We had a really nice dinner in the North End, then went to a place for dessert. I had chocolate gelato.

BC is playing Florida State tomorrow. My godson is having a pre-game cookout at his place (him and his 10 roommates) and he invited me. I may wear a BU hockey jersey!

First of all, sorry to hear about your grandfather. :(

If I were in your brother's situation, I'd bury the urn. I'm sure it would be hard, but I think dealing with the memories that would well up when you walk past the urn in the house would be even worse, and prolong the mourning period.

I think that was what was going on during the decision, and my brother hates making tough decisions like that (SIL "ran" the household, for the most part).

And again, thanks all for the thoughts during the past couple months. It's been a rough ride.

If that's the case, I'd think a nice picture in the living room would be a lot better than the urn containing her ashes.

I still despise the Ohio and Pennsylvania turnpikes.
In Pittsburgh for my cousin's wedding. Currently drinking with my parents and my aunt.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

In Plattsburgh NY for a buddies wedding. I must say, while some of the wedding party got very drunk last night, tonight's performance was embarrassing. Oh well, I am drunk, not drunk enough for typo's however. Wedding tomorrow afternoon, reception, nightcap downtown probably (hopefully? After being virtually the only one drinking to get drunk tonight, I'm not holding my breath.) Planning on getting drunk early in the reception tomorrow, since I need to cut myself off at 7-8pm, so I can be good enough to drive to Albany by 3am for my flight back to Tampa.
