Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #167: Weather

Good Morning Lodge.

My home computer sucks lately.

Jr and his skipper did terrible at the regatta Saturday. Dead last in each race. The skipper hasn't been at the helm in 3 years and he looked super timid at all times. I think I could have sailed better than he did and I can barely move around in the cockpit.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #167: Weather

He flew into Wright Bros field in Kitty hawk NC when he was about 9 or 10 with his uncle who lived down there and owned a Cessna 172. Loved it, pretty cool experience. He also played with Flight Simulator all the time instead of video games(played games also but).

I have a customer who runs a small airport and does instruction. He had a ground school, I asked Andrew if he wanted to go, he did. His Mom and I drove him there every week when he was 15, by 16 he was flying, Did his first solo, 3 up, 3 down and at 17 he had his private license. He joined Civil Air Patrol at that time to be around planes also. Now he is trying to get certified on a 172 at CAP, teaches classes to the younger CAP kids. We found some homework from 3rd grade where he stated he wanted to be a pilot so its one of those things, somehow he knew early what he wanted to do.
This is really cool story-

Back to reality today. Laundry, cleaning, cooking and rain.

Cue up the responses about this is what I should be doing and barefoot references

Howdy Lodge.

Sitting in a construction trailer, that is converted into a test cell control room, waiting for some parts to show up, so we can continue testing.

Morning.

Retooling my resume a bit today. I have had a lot of advice on what to do with it. Some professional, some not. I really don't want to spend money to have it professionally done.

As someone who screens candidates and reads a bunch of resumes (as part of a new hire recruiting team for my company), I don't think it is needed. I would rather see a resume that is simple and straight to the point, than something that looks like a production. Also, I immediately dismiss any candidate that uses a stiffer, thicker paper for the resume. It is effing annoying, and they do it just to draw attention to the resume, when what is written on the resume is what should be drawing attention to it.

UAT test can really suck sometimes. My computer is still trying to sift through the more than 34,000 email messages my test system sent to my email caused my Merrill Lynch sending us some unexpected test trades the last few days. And they're loading us up again. I've already asked them to stop once. What's it going to take for those freaking hoseheads in Charlotte to knock it off?

On a happy note, the HAHQ (pronounced "hack") in my office just went up today. The production group I support just hired a new hot Asian girl today. :)

My first pass is to see where they went to school. Any that read "BC" I deposit in the circular file.
The rest I stack and save for my trip to the research library to help pass the time.
(Female Asian names get put at the bottom since they automatically make the first cut)

I don't have to worry about paper since all of my job applications are online. If they want to print it on nice paper they can. :p

I added a summary statement and now I am converting some of the task-based information into results or accomplishments.
