Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #167: Weather

Bought a used car from a dealship in January. Discovered recently there are major problems with the AC system that sure seem like they were there from the beginning when we bought the car. Shouldn't the dealer bear at least some financial responsibility for the repairs? They wouldn't even discuss it and refused to even acknowledge even the possibility the AC was busted before we bought the car. Arrg!!!!

You know, I don't feel any better after that rant. Now what? *sigh* :(
Did you buy it As-is or with a warranty?

Always take a used car to a mechanic for a buyers review. They cost about $100, but can really save you so much in the end, as you're learning now. When I sold my mom's car a couple years ago, the guy had it inspected at Bobby & Steve's. It sealed the deal for the sale.

Is it a stupid idea to let her go for now and let her experience whatever happens in her life, and give myself the freedom to do so as well, and then talk with her and reassess after a certain period of time?
No, that is a smart idea.

I cannot remember where I heard this joke but it was a while back: I like Friends much better when it called Seinfeld.
I know I've said this before. :p

I liked both shows, but Seinfeld was better...

You'll be hearing from Ralph and his attorneys forthwith concerning your tawdry, salacious comments about his not having scored a goal in two years. I hope they sue your sorry butt into the middle of next year.

:D
I don't believe in attorneys. :D

You ask that like you have a choice in letting her go. The only thing you can do is control your response to her leaving.

You can either take the hardly be that if she leaves the two of you are done, or you can take a softer approach like I talked about before. I do caution you, that you MUST expect that even if you leave the door open that she will not want to come back.

This scares me though, because I feel like my heart isn't in experiencing other things.

I guess I want this to work. Whether it's a month from now or a year from now. If it doesn't work, I know that there's someone better for me. I just don't see that as a real possibility currently.

You don't want anything different at this point, that's to be expected. You have to accept the reality that things have changed and give yourself permission to grieve and heal.

Sitting at an intersection today, behind a semi-truck. Truck kinda rolls back a little (standard thing to see, due to it being a stick). Except it didn't stop and backed straight into my Jeep. I couldn't shift into reverse fast enough to back up and avoid getting hit.

THANKFULLY, no damage whatsoever. None. Not even a scratch, and the semi pushed my Jeep back a couple inches. I'm guessing it's because his bumper and my bumper hit square, and not at an angle. Also, this happened when I was on my way from the offsite to the main building and since I don't bring my phone to work...that long delay before showing up sure would have been SO fun to explain.

Side note: the company of the truck that hit me? We used to use them for some LTL stuff, but dumped them because everything about them sucked arse. It's a rather large company, too.

So, Semi-truck tries to damage Jeep, and Jeep said "F you, I'm Jeep!" :D

Good morning Lodge.

Hi. This is Zachary (little g). I hope you have a good weekend.
Hi Zachary! I hope you have a good weekend too.

My best friend comes home for the summer today. I'm very excited for that.

Almsy is amazingly wise. Think Yoda. Listen to him.

There are times when being a parent sucks and you wonder what ever happened to the character you thought you were trying to build in your child. This is one of those times where, if we lived on a farm in a rural setting, he would belong in the barn with the donkeys.

Sweet. Basement is flooded, so can't use water. Only things I have to eat that don't require water are in the basement.
