On reflection, perhaps JF is alluding to the world ending later this year. Better the world than just me. :D

Four day work week for me, leaving for Duluth Thursday night and then heading up the North Shore for the weekend on Friday. Cannot. Farking. Wait.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #155: Back to School

I'm going to watch the start of the "no electricity" show and set myself up for disappointment
We just watched the pilot the other night on demand. It was pretty dumb.

I already hate the lead actress and the pilot was only 45 minutes. Also, right at the beginning they make a point to say "the laws of physics went crazy." I guess that's their pass to do whatever they want.

The show is from the maker of Lost, I don't think he understands that there are laws of Physics. I mean, a jumbo jet fell from 35,000 feet and 40 some people walked away unharmed.

I'm sitting at the dealer, waiting for my warranty work to get done, I have a bad feeling that they'll find a way for this to not be covered by warranty.

That's because you bought a Dodge. The entirety of my childhood, my parents always had either a Dodge van or truck, and there was seldom a month that went by without something happening to the vehicles.

Women in the workplace make for excess drama. This group was so much calmer before we started hiring more the women. We used to be a group of six people, and a manager. Of the six people, five were guys and one was perhaps the coolest woman ever - great personality, good face, awesome body and a killer rack. Oh, and she was effective as an analyst. Now we have four women in the group as we've expanded to a nine-person team, and the little back stories and backstabbing that goes on seems to impact everything. It's nuts.

Well, I've had mine for 4 and a half years and this is the first time I've brought it in, and this is for a minor problem that in my opinion should be covered under warranty. I don't think that is too bad.

Grrrr.... slow day at the studio. got nothing on the schedule here until 5:30

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #155: Back to School

Well, not a minor problem, but it is covered under the warranty. New turbocharger courtesy of.....dammmit! There goes part of my bonus!

Also, the problem was exactly what I told the guy it was. When he asked me what is wrong with the truck, I told him, he said "no, that is a diagnosis not what the problem is", I told him again that it the VGT is sticking. He came to the waiting room to tell me what is wrong and said, It was exactly what you said it was". I just didn't think they'd need to replace the whole **** turbo, I thought it would be a new VGT actuator. Of course, they may just be replacing the whole turbo when the actuator is the only thing that is wrong. I think he figured out that I know what I'm talking about since I'm working at a table here, when he walked up with a few notebooks, and other papers that are plastered with the company logo.

Hey now, don't go generalizing like that. I've dealt with plenty of men in the workplace that cause extra drama. All kinds of back-stabbing, lying, political bs and ****-wagging contests. I could accomplish a lot more if some of the men I work with could just accept that they are occasionally wrong.

It doesn't matter what the sex of the person is. It is the number of people. The more people the crazier they get. More opportunity to say stuff you shouldn't, have it interpreted in new and fascinating ways.
