Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #153: Condiments, anyone?

Grill results for tonight: Giganto sirloin, and a huge salmon steak, grilled to perfection, resting on the counter for a couple of minutes. IN the meantime, I'm savoring my second margarita, and getting ready to pour some vino. Mrs. StPaul has set up our outdoor table for an actual outdoor dinner, and the kids are actually happily chllling outside waiting for their dinner. Right now the iTunes randomizer is playing Iggy Pop's "Wild Child," so that's something too. I feel a little Scarlet-like, wanting to announce" I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little buzzde! :D Anyhow, I hope you all are having a fine Saturday summer evening.

PS: Hic!

DANG that salmon skin -- grilled and stuck to the grill and then peeled off by my mad skillz tongs -- tastes good.

And now the iTunes randomizer has pulled up "Working for the Weekend" by Loverboy. It's a par-tay, I tell you!!12!

Heh. I get reactions from people when my playlists go from classic rock to thrash metal to punk to hair bands to grunge and back again. When it comes to rock n' roll, I can appreciate a lot of eras.

Ditto. Throw in some rap, some novelty acts (like Richard Cheese) and some techno (like Lords Of Acid) and that about sums my tastes up.

While preparing dinner I also had iTunes playing. Beatles, System of a Down, Mumford and Sons, Rush, STP, Motely Crüe, Gotye and Led Zeppelin all played.

Cripes I am beat. Little gII got a bunch of Lego stuff for his birthday. I spent about four hours putting stuff together. Now I am in the process of putting together all the Lego stuff they have had before today.

Question for you Legomaniacs. My kids have a bunch of Lego stuff (City stuff, Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean and just a large plain set). All the Legos set stuff has been assembled and the kids either took stuff apart and built their own stuff or just disassembled stuff etc. All the Legos are tossed together into one big bin. I have kept all the directions and such but when I go to build something I have to search and search this large bin for this and that. Frustrating and at times it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. Any suggestions? Keep each item in its own bin? Sort Legos by color and keep in bins? Suck it up and quit being a wuss?

Dang. Just got word from my buddy. They won their 4th game, then lost the 5th game in the bottom of the 7th. :( They have to win 5 in a row tomorrow to get to the title game (and beat the other team twice in a row to win it all).

Something like this HAS happened to this/our team before. In regionals a few years back, we had to win 8 in a row to get to the title game. We did (and had NO breaks between games; as soon as one ended, we started the next). However, we lost the first game in the title matchup. Still good enough to make state, though. I think this team could do it, as they were playing teams at least a level above them the whole weekend.

Late night drinking last night (3am), day drinking poolside today and now another late night in the making. Exhausted, luckily I fly to Florida tomorrow afternoon.

Back home for me. It was a good day. Watched The Open for 6 hours this morning. At about noon I headed down to the state fairgrounds for Car Craft Summer Nationals and drank beer and wandered around looking at thousands of badass muscle cars for 4 hours. Then we went over to a buddy's place...which is on a lake, had several Lime a Ritas, grilled brats and burgers and went out in the boat.

Good day all around.

Win 5 in a row? Cripes, in this heat/humidity I would be spent by the bottom of the first in game two. If there was a game three I would be rocking in the fetal position while sucking my thumb asking for my mommy. :D

That regionals that I mentioned? Similar weather. Played 4 games on Sat, 9 on Sunday. It was brutal. IIRC, it was over 100 heat index by noon. The kicker? On Sat, we lost our 1B (blew out his knee on a play in the first game) so since we didn't have an "extra" on the roster at the time, we rolled with 9 players for 2 games (until a friend showed up later for the last game), which usually is a death sentence in softball. Especially since his "spot" in the batting order is officially vacated, and is an automatic out when his "spot" is up to bat. Yeah.

Goes to show what a little bit of luck, and a LOT of determination can do. :)

When in doubt, this is always the answer. ;)

What Brent said. :p Half the fun of Legos is finally finding that one dmaned piece you've spend hours looking for.

...of course, if you REALLY want, you could get an organizer and pretend that your kids will use it. ;)
