Mornin' Lodge. Sort of bittersweet here today. About 30 minutes ago my oldest daughter left for her 1600 mile trek to Texas and a new chapter in her life. As she pulled out of the driveway and headed up the road I lost it but at the same time I was tremendously proud. Probably gonna be rough for the next couple of days as I come to terms with this.

Best of luck to you and your daughter.

I have a good twelve years or so to prepare...........

For those of you keeping score from home regarding little g. He received his wheel chair on Friday. As far as the look of his wheel chair it's one used by people for sporting events. Not your "typical" looking wheel chair but very streamlined looking. Nonetheless, it's still a wheel chair.

Little g is still getting used to it but he picked up the basics pretty quick.

Twangs are sexy.
Agreed. Chicks with southern drawls are hotter than chicks without. Same goes for foreign accents (Brit, Aussie).

Goldy, for your son's sake I hope you said yes to that girl's inquiry. Just make sure you have a quick father-son talk with him first to explain how not to brick.

Another excellent example of why the final rounds of major championship golf is must-see TV. Unbelievable.

Maybe I didn't spend enough time in Atlanta last month to create a sample set, but I certainly didn't find southern accented girls hotter.

There was one hot blonde college girl selling 50/50 tickets at the Braves game. Upon hearing her speak, I immediately kept walking.

I'm willing to go to Atlanta again to retry the theory though. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #153: Condiments, anyone?

Question for you Legomaniacs. My kids have a bunch of Lego stuff (City stuff, Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean and just a large plain set). All the Legos set stuff has been assembled and the kids either took stuff apart and built their own stuff or just disassembled stuff etc. All the Legos are tossed together into one big bin. I have kept all the directions and such but when I go to build something I have to search and search this large bin for this and that. Frustrating and at times it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. Any suggestions? Keep each item in its own bin? Sort Legos by color and keep in bins? Suck it up and quit being a wuss?

If they boys like to free build, they are going to want to keep them mixed and in one bin.

For rebuilding sets, it all comes down to organization. First I have a number of storage cabinents with a number of drawers that I picked up at hardware stores (example) or fishing tackle box trays (example to sort the pieces. Sort by size/shape not color, pulling out the most common sizes/shapes (standard bricks and plates) will make it easier to sort through the uncommon/unique pieces to find what you need.

One thing that I have found helpful is to use the set inventories from http://www.peeron.com (search by set number, also has scans of retired sets) to then pull out all the pieces needed to build the set. Really cuts down on the amount of searching that you need to do because you only have to search for each type/color of piece once. It will also help you know if you have lost any pieces and can't build the set any longer. It is possible to acquire replacement pieces for lost or broken parts through LEGO or through online sellers if you want, LEGO will replace broken parts (provided they are actively produced parts) for free.

Dammit. Now I want to go to my parents house and dig out my huge tub of legos.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #153: Condiments, anyone?

Made a good homemade dinner tonight. Pan fried some chicken breasts with onions, garlic, and fresh basil, with raspberry balsamic onions over it. Served it with roasted red skin potatoes with onions and fresh green beans tossed with bacon and, yes, onions. (I put onions in practically everything I cook, I absolutely love them)

Good evening Lodge.

Another great day spent at the lake.

I was thinking about going to the Batman movie, but I'm going to wait for gf to get home, since she wants to see it. I guess I have to avoid spoilers for a while.

Just watch it twice. It's worth it, I will say that.

TDKR, lots of bacon and eggs, Goon (the movie, not the poster), Cool Hand Luke, black angus beef and corn in a butter sauce, and soon it's Breaking Bad? I'd say it has been a good Sunday.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #153: Condiments, anyone?

Figure I'll go see it tomorrow during the day...theater shouldn't be that busy since most people are at work...

Watch out world!!

Hi kids, we're home. Lil has grown another inch. Mr and I have been married for 25+ yrs. We are a $ poorer after staying at a place that we would not repeat a visit to (:() but it was still nice to get away. The power died while we were gone and trashed the fridge contents. Fridge is now the cleanest it has been since we were married. Frustrating to lose everything but we no longer have all that stuff we weren't sure about keeping for awhile. Fridge looks brand new! The wire that was running under the branch has also been replaced and put over the branch. Another positve.
