"I'll Have Another" is a great name, and the one I would probably have bet on. Crap.

mel and I chose that as the winner. I admit, I was rooting for the Ragin' Cajun Calvin Borel, because he rules, but my official pick was I'll Have Another.

And quote Sloe Gin after I texted him about this: "Bad. 10th or worse." After the race I texted him back: hahahahahahahaha BOOM!

He replied, "I put in a bet for you on IHA."

:D

I should've bet on that horse. I was rooting for it based on the name. ;)

For me, name + odds range (which is 8-1 to 12-1, usually) is the method I choose my horses. Now, IHA started at 12-1, but went down to 14-1 by racetime, but by then I had made my decision. :D

Morning.

Noisy storm most of last night. But no damage this morning as I went for coffee.

I was on the Georgetown waterfront yesterday and say a woman w her husband and she was wearing the full Islamic clown suit. Creepy being in the center of freedom in the western world and see stuff like that go down. Further the guy was ugly enough that he should have dressed that way too.

You mean freedom of religion?

I don't respect anything that makes a womans value one quarter of a man. She may have the right... but I have a hard time believing its nothing but culturally instilled fear.
I wasn't saying I agree with it. I just didn't understand what part you didn't like.

Good morning. Halfway through final project due tomorrow. If I stay off the GD inter webs I'd be done by noon. :)

This. I see the customs/beliefs/actions of various religious groups (including the one to which I belong) and thank God (irony!) I don't live in a Theocracy.

IALTO.

And we need to also ban dihydrogen monoxide. I mean, just look at the list:

contributes to the "greenhouse effect".
may cause severe burns.
is fatal if inhaled.
contributes to the erosion of our natural landscape.
accelerates corrosion and rusting of many metals.
may cause electrical failures and decreased effectiveness of automobile brakes.
has been found in excised tumors of terminal cancer patients.

Despite the danger, dihydrogen monoxide is often used:
as an industrial solvent and coolant.
in nuclear power plants.
in the production of Styrofoam.
as a fire retardant.
in many forms of cruel animal research.
in the distribution of pesticides. Even after washing, produce remains contaminated by this chemical.
as an additive in certain "junk-foods" and other food products.

Good Morning, Lodge!

It was fun waking up at 2am this morning to tornado sirens in the South Metro. Mother Nature is lucky that I was able to go back to sleep.

One of the greatest bits ever. Being filmed at the Lilith Fair (or something like that, IIRC) made it even funnier.
