I pay minimum, and it's been awesome, despite some freak things in the past year (pinched ulnar nerve/aka funny bone; and migraines related to a serious sinus infection: basically shut me down for 2-3 days). Total cost, which included special testing and CAT scans for those? About $100.

Your company also has kick-arse insurance, as only a few (largely old-school blue-collar or waaay upscale white-collar) do anymore.

I'm considering MinnesotaCare for myself, actually, since I don't have enough yearly hours yet to get insurance through work. Dunno what the health care bill will change about that, but it's a stop-gap at least.

Btw, returned your Facebook message - will let you and Worthless know when I know more.

True.

And contacted WSoP privately, with the limited info.

1.5 days of work to go. Thank goodness. Although, it hasn't been THAT rough. Only 9-hour-days. It's just that I'm awaiting a couple trips in the next month or so, and I want them to happen NOW.

Evening, Lodge! Had a better day in class, even though I'm still struggling with baguette makeup. The only thing I can do is practice...

Yeah, a long damm way. All I have right now is a pile of debt, but that goes with the territory, 1 year into a mortgage. Oh well.

Les: I will be on the western side. Flying into Glasgow, then driving west toward the coast, the town where the customer is located is right on the water, just outside of Glasgow.
I believe on that side of the Isle it qualifies as a good weather day when the rain is just coming straight down, not sideways.
I have to sit coach, on a flight from Minneapolis to Amsterdam. And back. On an Airbus A330. **** MY LIFE.
As a fellow 6 foot plus guy, you have my sympathy!!!

Too much rouge and not enough eyeshadow?
Getting all excited and leaving confused?? ;)

I have the bare minimum for health insurance. Just something to cover me if something major comes along. Its one of the perks of being a relatively healthy 27 year old guy. I haven't once used my health insurance since I got onto my own plan.
Get a HDHP paired with an HSA. Those are ideal for young and healthy people because by the time you are likely to need it for anything significant, your premiums (a huge percentage of which get deposited into the HSA each year) will have filled your account with enough money to meet the annual deductible and then some. Plus if you never need to use the money during your career (or have some left when you retire), you can take it out and pay taxes on it just as you would for a retirement account.

Morning.

Dentist day. Not excited about that hour of my life. Something about needles in my gums that makes me uncomfortable.

Temp is 17 below. Factor in wind chill it is 37 below.
I thought it was nice out this morning.

That is what I'm doing right now. I have enough in my HSA to cover my maximum out-of-pocket 1.5 times. Out of each paycheck, I think I pay about $8 towards health insurance and $50 into the HSA.

PB, you obviously just suck at life. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 142: On the 1000th Post of the Last Thread

I organized a product planning meeting for one of my customers, to give them a forum to explain the markets that they sell into, and so they can relay their needs for new products/product improvement/etc. to the people at the factory. It originally started off fairly small, with just the key players for our small sliver of products, and now it has exploded as more people found out about it. At this point, there will be 2 chief engineers, 2 guys that at the same level as chief engineer but on the business side, plant managers, and lastly the chief technical officer. They're flying the corporate jet in for the day. I'm going to be in a meeting with some serious bigwhigs!
