Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 142: On the 1000th Post of the Last Thread

But my wife is self employed (as an accounting professional) she carefully figures her estimated payments on her own income to get us right to the edge of where we can be. Not so large a check on 4/15 to invite an audit, but no less than that either so we keep it as long as we can.

BPH, that was meant as a dig on MNS, not you!

For les, or Monster, or anyone else who knows. Any recommendations for my son's recovery? He has a rib that has subluxated a couple times. The chiro puts it back in, but it comes out again. Any tips? Also, should I wrap it before he plays hockey?
No idea. Sorry.

I did my taxes last night and now I've put my refund towards a new Vizio HDTV and Sony home theater system. This is the first time I've ever ordered either of them from the web. I'm a little excited about that notion and I'm not sure why. They're going to arrive next week.

My taxes will be for road trips, mainly. I should get a real good chunk back, due to the amount of OT I had last year.

This will be my first year getting money back. Very excited :D

My old job never took taxes out of our paychecks.

My taxes are paying for a trip to Minnesota in October. First week of October, I plan on riding Amtrak to the Twin Cities for a weekend of bacon, hockey, and the Twin Cities Marathon.

Still not sure what my tax returns will go for, but I'm guessing it'll be for a computer fund.

This year I know I gotta give the government money, as I don't have it taken out. pretty sure this year is going to suck, but hopefully will be better the next couple of years.

I don't mind giving them an interest free loan either. The way I look at it is I figure out how to live without it, then when I get it back it's extra.

This. Instead of buying that extra burger or so each week, I get a nice little slush fund in Feb/March.

I'd rather pocket the interest myself on the money all along. Then again, I actually know how to budget and earn money on my money.

Brent automatically loses this argument for agreeing with MNS.

Is going through the tax thing worth the $5 of interest you're gonna get on a savings acct or whatever? Or having the money to get an extra burger per week if you don't let the gub'ment take your money? I'll take the one-time cash drop. Not like I'm earning less than inflation anyway with my checking acct.

I'll be paying a metric ****ton to NYS, seeing how my employer is in Texa$ and thus I haven't been paying NYS for the past 7 months I started really earning money. Feds... no clue, hopefully I get some back.

Greenville discharging until lunch or so, then back down south. 5 days and a wakeup!

Just thought of a great idea for a poll (pole). I am sure that I will forget it whenever I have a chance to post one.

Another retirement luncheon today for someone I worked with. This is the third one since I retired.
