I have a feeling this day is going to be a nightmare.

What the hell is a Wikipedia SOPA protest?
Stop online piracy act - legislation that is viewed by some as internet censorship more or less.

Debt is fine as long as it's fixed / low interest rate because once you assess its cost in real terms and account for inflation, the cost of borrowing is very near zero. Just don't do something stupid like moving elsewhere before you've built up much equity in the house / before the real estate market has a chance to recover off the bottom a bit. That sort of thing will only further delay your rise into the upper strata of wealth. :p

Also, take full advantage of tax deferred investment and the Roth IRA. The more time you give your investments to earn a return, the more money you will have when you ultimately retire (and the earlier you invest, the better - $5000 invested now has significantly more compounding power behind it than $5000 invested 10 years from now).

I don't have an IRA, I have a 401k, and it already has a pretty big amount in it, considering I haven't been working for that long.

You should open a Roth IRA pronto. As long as you are under the income limit ($107,000), you can contribute up to $5000 annually to a Roth. The only caveat is that it's after-tax money (however, the payoff is that earnings on this account will not be taxed).

Morning Lodge.

Busy day today (and rest of week). May have to fly to DC next week for a quick, small, job at American University. I'll watch out for Ralph on his bike.

Got my travel plans done, its not booked yet, its on hold. I need to get final approval from the bosses before it can be booked. Minneapolis-Amsterdam-Glasgow on Monday and Tuesday, then Glasgow-Amsterdam-Minneapolis-Indianapolis on Sunday, and finally, Indianapolis-Minneapolis on Tuesday. Leave for Houghton for Carnival Wednesday morning.

You know about the deep-fried Mars bars, right?

I'm stuck for an hour at the car dealer for a fuel injector retuning. Hopped on their free wifi and tried going to Food and Wine website for a meatloaf recipe . . . "we're sorry this website falls under the alcohol and tobacco category, to ensure an appropriate environment we don't allow access to that category on our network." It's their network, they can do what they want, but insert eye-roll here.

I have to sit coach, on a flight from Minneapolis to Amsterdam. And back. On an Airbus A330. **** MY LIFE.

My dealer won't let me log onto the USCHO board. Boards aren't allowed.

Oh, sounds like a good idea...regulate illegal activity.

And you can't find a better way to discourage the "illegal activity"? Instead you have to go crying to mommy and daddy because someone can do something better than you?
