Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

I need a root canal.

One of my lower molars has been achey for a while. I mentioned it a couple of years ago, thinking the tooth might have had a crack in it. It was x-rayed, they couldn't see anything. The dentist thought I should replace an old filing, that that was probably it. Had that done a year and a half ago. Same tooth is sore. New dentist tells me that filling was so deep that it probably impacted the nerve enough that it finally said "ENOUGH" and now I have to have a root canal. I'm wondering if the other dentist looked closer a year and a half ago she would have noticed this and I could have had it done then. I feel like they told me a I needed a new cavity to suck more money out of me. This root canal is going to be a major time suck and a big expense, even with the dental insurance.

She told me I have to come infor two appointments in a row, a week or two apart, to drill and remove the nerve/root whatever. Then two more appointments to rebuild the tooth and put in the crown, for lack of a better term. I told her I have two trips planned this month, she told me flying when you have this isn't good, that the chance for a worse infection is high. I booked the first appointment for the 25th in the morning. Then, I fly that Sunday. My second appointment isn't till Nov. 8th. But now I'm a little worried. I found out a couple of years ago that I was allergic to Amoxicillin. I'm assuming I will need some sort of anti biotic. les - are there any anti biotics that aren't part of the cillin family? I'm thinking of postponing that Oct 25th appointment till I get back because of this. Thoughts?

I just had the wisdom tooth extraction and got put on Clindamycin since I'm allergic to penicillin. I'm sure your dentist will have an adequate antibiotic that will work for you.

That really sucks though. You're going to be the female Ralph with all those dentist appointments!! Although I go back to my oral surgeon tomorrow to get my stitches removed... that is if one of them doesn't come out on its own... it's already about halfway out probably.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Sorry Scarlet.:( Best of luck with it. On a positive note, the procedure itself may not be too bad. I've had a couple done and neither one was all that bad (not like the jokes make it out to be).

Our internet and, hence, our phones (VOIP through server in NYC) have been down -up-down-up today. May take off if they go down again.

Michigan hockey has 5 games in 8 days. That is a lot...including 2 weeknights in a row. Last night vs. The U18s....and tonight hockey that counts vs. Niagara.

Not here. Classmate aced the interview and she'll start working here soon.

it doesn't take much to get sick of most cafeteria food.
no kidding. I try and make healthy meals and put some decent things together but I find it hard to do.
Where are you going to school again? Are you at MSUM?

ETA, Thanks bigblue.
I'm currently at MSUM, may possibly transfer after this year, we'll see.
Morning Lodge.

Thanks for the invite, a bonfire would be good about now. I'd recommend keeping a hose nearby given how dry it has been. But, surprisingly enough I plan to watch hockey that night. I will likely be going to the Gopher home opener with Sacred Heart, if I were not, I'd be watching Bantam tryouts with my son skating.
They let you watch try outs up in Edina? Here in Mankato our placement process is closed to everyone but the coaches.
My flights last week I didn't even do the ziploc thing, just kept the toothpaste and deodarant in my carry-on. Never have an issue.
This makes me feel good...so that one time somebody's toothpaste tube is filled with something other than toothpaste and we're all stuck scratching our heads again...

They do. For bantams I watched most of the grading sessions out of curiosity and I watched all of the first scrimmages because I was helping with check-ins. We have 129 skaters, 141 total with goalies, trying out for bantams. We have about 6 more who are going straight to the C scrimmages. We had 4 grading sessions (down from a scheduled 5 as very few signed up for the last one - it started late on a school night) and four tryout scrimmages for four groups. Then after the As, B1s and B2s are drafted, the remaining kids skate in two C tryout scrimmages so the parent coaches can watch them then draft those teams. We will have either 8 or 9 teams, 1A, 2B1, and then not sure how they'll split the rest, either 3 and 3 or 3 and 2 or 2 and 3 for B2 and C. I think they should do 3 B2 and 2 C. A bunch of kids have left for the recreational league and they were all C players, I think a full team of them so just assume they would have been the third C.

This same group had 175 skaters and 20 goalies two years ago as peewees. Eleven teams. The A team won state, the B1 teams played each other for state final, two B2s played for district final and two Cs played for district final. It's a strong group.

Is Facebook acting wonky for anyone else or is it just me? I wonder if it's our network here or if it's taking forever to load for the rest of the world.

Also, to comment on something from this morning - how do you find someone's email address on this site? I thought when you clicked on their name one of the choices is to send an email. I know it goes through USCHO, but I can't find that link any more. Did they disable that function to get you to use private messaging? The person I need to email isn't around these parts any more.

Ahhh... Being smarter than the average bear has it's good moments... Realized they were single tracking at my station before anybody else picked up on it :D

Made my appointment on time :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

That should surprise no one. Airport 'security' is a complete scam.

Nothing had surprised me there either when I read it a couple months ago. There is still FAR too much that goes unnoticed by our "airport security," and also FAR too much that really shouldn't matter, but they make it seem like it is WW3.

If there's no email link when you click on a user's name then they have not enabled the ability to receve email from other members.

Evening, Lodge. My instructor thinks I'm making progress this time around.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Tough day for my daughter.
For those in the Twin Cities you may have read about yesterday's murder-suicide in SLP and Minneapolis? Their youngest is in my daughter's HS class and they sit by each other in a few classes and she knows him fairly well. There is also a daughter who is a senior at the school plus to graduates who are college age.

Why can't these *******s just blow their own brains out and leave their spouse alone?
