Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Morning.

Happy October! Probably gonna hit the OC today for my free birthday pizza. That is the best perk of the WBC. Because their pizza is delicious. :D

*insert 5-hole joke here*

That's nothing close to the adorability of a goalie UConn had while I was in grad school. About as close to perfect looking blond as you get (all of this is IIRC).

edit: still keeping stuff off boards, but I find with the medication I'm on I've become a lot more open and comfortable about and with women... good things.

Good Morning Lodge.

Gonna smoke some salmon tonight for some work guests who are coming over. Start of the fall smoking season for me. Hope to do a lot more of it this fall than last.
Smoked salmon sounds good, send some here:)

My hate affair with public transit continues... 35 minute wait outbound, 20 minute wait inbound to go two stops each way

See, that's one of those things that you can only figure once in you're in the bowels of the place... of course if i were conscientious I'd check the train times on my phone... its 51, windy and rainy, and its 1.75 miles... not the funnest thing to do while pulling a cart.

I almost wish I had a friend who lived in the building. That'd be awesome.

Ralph,

I think they are either sending trains every 24 min (they did that once) or they missed a train in sequence and I got unlucky... I think they're doing work at BOTH West Falls Church and Eastern Market.

How come it took so long for someone to post this?

Back from the XC meet. Lil did OK. Not as good as last week. Still 1st man :) but this time the Srs were all at SATs. It was supposed to be cool and rainy. By the time he ran I was sweating my heiny off. It was at least 75, got sunny and was humid. I was wearing a thin sweater that was not thin enough. Woof!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

So I'm coming in tomorrow from 7-1pm to do my company a favor and cover an event for which they didn't have a crew for the ambulance they scheduled (Breast Cancer walk) and the scheduling guy has now called twice asking if I can work 7am - 7pm instead. On my only day off (between work and school). On a day which I never work. And I have repeatedly explained that I have an exam (I don't, it's a quiz, but it determines whether or not I can pass meds in a hospital. If I don't do well, I can't continue in clinical and have serious penalties) on Monday night. I foresee getting crappy ambulances and crappy schedules as retaliation for the next few weeks. :(

On the plus side, I am looking for recipes to make chocolate whoopie pies with peanut butter filling since there is a birthday coming up on Monday in our house. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

What time is the party? ;)
Private party. :p

Found two recipes that I'll probably combine. One for a cake-ier cookie and one with a marshmallow creme based center that you add peanut butter to. Seeing as we don't eat "fluff", looks like I'm making marshmallow creme from scratch too...
Now it's definitely a private party! :D

Edit: This recipe is my other thought, except I would do peanut butter layer, layer of chocolate ganache/fudge, peanut butter layer, layer of fudge, etc. We may need to celebrate more birthdays around here...

Back at the stadium tonight, rain started during Kitty Cats BP but has since stopped. Tarp is still on the field, but it should be coming off soon I imagine.

Bought a PS3 today. Impulse buying sorta, but I wanted something new. Got NHL and Madden to go with it, although I don't see myself playing madden a whole lot. Who on here wants a beatdown in NHL monday once I get home?
